1976 Kombi for sale - Brisbane **SOLD**
Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:10 PM

Seller's Name – Alan Agyik (on behalf of my brother who owns the vehicle)
Suburb – Holland Park, Brisbane 4121
Item Description including Brand – VW 1976 Kombi
Condition – Good (see below)
Item Cost - $1500 ono (negotiable due to time limitations)
Ph: 0417 645 854 or email alanagyik@hotmail.com

My brother's kombi has been sitting for the last 3 years (unregistered) in the garage (until one week ago when I moved it so I could paint my beetle). My parents have just sold their house and therefore the kombi unfortunately has to go as my brother has neither the time nor the space to hang onto it. Therefore it has to go ASAP - ideally by the end of the weekend coming [by sunday 16 Jan, but at latest Tuesday 18 Jan as this issettlement date] (I know this is a big ask).

Kombi is not registered, and 2L original engine was partially disassembled (down to longblock) in readiness for rebuild before plans changed for my brother. Was running but was smoky.

See below for more details...

This is a really solid bus, no rust apart from very very minor surface rust in a couple of spots. None in the usual spots (lower portion of nose, sills, outriggers, below battery tray, roof gutters etc).

Doglegs both very nice, everything just needs a tidy up.

As pictures tell a thousand words, better to overload pics rather than try and describe everything. Drivers side dogleg looks ratty but is very solid - no rust again.

Passenger sill under sliding door again very nice and straight and solid.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:15 PM

Drivers side sill also tidy.

These are the only major blemishes, a scrape down the passenger side from wheel arch back - certainly repairable....I certainly am not trying to hide anything.

In the rear lower corner of cargo door also a slight dent which you can see in this pic.

Drivers rear 3/4 view.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:19 PM

Nose has not been hit, and no signs of rust.

Rear bumper is included by the way (but has been removed).

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:20 PM

Both gutters very solid and straight.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:21 PM

Both front seats were retrimmed in the standard brown basket weave type vinyl a couple of years before it was "parked" - have since been protected by seat covers. Other than being a little untidy, cabin is very nice.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:22 PM

All engine parts are in the bus (including very good condition extractors), as well as a very nice spare wheel cover.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:24 PM

Here is the extractors.....and a view through to the front.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:25 PM

Gearbox has not been rebuilt but shifted very nicely when it was driving (I have driven it a few times to attest to this).

This a really original, non-hacked up bus that needs a new home.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:27 PM

Again, not long before being 'parked', four new tyres were fitted (which are still excellent condition), as well as four new adjustable, rebuildable Koni red shocks - this made the bus drive very nicely.

Dasdubber - January 9th, 2005 at 10:30 PM

Last pic...of under the front end....again just untidy but very solid.

I understand there is a very short time frame here, and this is why the price is negotiable. My brother was hoping to hang onto it but as stated above can not store it, nor has time to get it back on the road.

Buyer must arrange pickup/transport, email me if you have any questions

Cheers,
Alan

Nice tidy little project there. Shame it's after the Christmas spending spree!

Best of luck with the sale!

There is one fellow who has expressed interest via email who has first preference but am waiting back to hear from him re. coming to have a look.

Second in line is another person who is scheduled to come for a look on wednesday.

I honour first in best dressed but have also made it clear numerous times above that time is critical so can't afford to delay people who may be genuinely keen.

Cheers
Alan

As stated above the first fellow who expressed interest (who was first in line) came to look today and has bought the kombi.

Thanks all for your interest, and thanks aussieveedubbers!

Sorry to those who were second and third in line, hopefully you will find a kombi soon.
Alan
