With Hood Up
Engine Bay. I think it look's okay but for some reason the judges at the Perth VW day disagreed and gave it the lowest Engine bay score in it's class, And the reason I was given for the score was that some people had bothered to clean and repaint their tin ware, Yes that was me (bastards). Those that didn't even bother to wash their engines thought was hilarious and obviously I need to make sure I had some more oil and rust . Needless to say I was has an unhappy chappy, feel better now though as I have had a winge.

Your score may not have been just low because of the alignment of the moon and stars. Depending on the judging system in place you may have lost
points for non original aircleaner, hoses, coil, non genuine exhaust etc. There was likely other engines with EXACTLY the original parts, albeit a
little more scratched, but original condition.
The best thing to do is put your hand up to help with judging and get an idea of what is involved.

Very nice and well worth the 18k. Good luck with the sale.
Helbus,
Don't get me wrong I appreciate those that ghive up their time to help out on the VW days and the judges were running around like headless chickens.
It just pissed me off that I had bothered to pull the engine, strip it all back, have all the tineware done, replace manifold and exhaust, paint
everything that needed it, make the effort to get it all finished in time for the day, only to be told I received a low score(2/25) because othes had
cleaned their engine bays up, not because of standard parts etc.
There were only 5 cabrio's being judged aginst each other and only one other had even cleaned their engine bay(Given away by the fact that he was the
only other one with his engine lid up). As I said this was found to be very funny by those that had not touched their's. It is all supposed to be in
fun but when you have made an effort and it is shat on it makes you ask "Why bother".

Bump again (just in case some one missed it)
That looks to be a very, very good price.
Squiz....
Thanks for confirming I have been resonable with my asking price guys. If anyone is interested in this let me know so I don't drive it anymore, everytime I go for a drive I am too tempted to keep it.
I would keep it, I reckon you will regret selling it in the future...
Don't sell it just because of more kids just go buy another one to spread the load!!!
I have considered selling a kid instead but can get more for the cab.
no way, you could get more for a kid on ebay
i reckon you'll regret it later on if you do sell too..
but what has to be done, has to be done
good luck with the sale mate, if my sister had the $$ she'd snap it up in a second
If anyone in Perth wants to view the car I will have it at the Whiteman Park Classic Car show on March 20th. Even if you don't want the car drop in and say G'day to the VW club.
