U2U me for other details such as phone.
Hey folks..
Had this in the backyard for a while now after finding my other bus and doing that one instead.. Now I gotta get rid of some of my stuff.. 5 VW's is
a bit much and I am starting to miss bargains cause I have no room!
Okay, I have had this for a while now, around 2 years or more. The reason I have just kept it in the backyard is because there was no need to get rid
of it, and at the time lots were going OS, so I'd rather keep it in my backyard than have that happen. This rule still applies.
One of the first things that you can see is that the rear is a bit average. The rear drivers corner is always stuffed because of rust and the battery
tray... same in this case. The engine lid is also rusted, but it comes with a spare that is quite good.
Needless to say, from the rear window, it is roughly a 1965.

The left hand corner, at this stage, is pretty good. A bit closer...
Passenger side:
One of the cargo doors is now punctured as I rubbed it against the dog kennel when I moved it here a couple of years ago. Other than that, the usual
rust in the cargo doors is only very slightly starting to come through.. Mainly in the form of colour through the paint at the moment..
Doglegs and stuff look good, as does the door.
how much u asking?
Drivers side:
First thing that is noticed is the window cut into the drivers blind spot. Unfortunetly this wasn't uncommon in the 60's & 70's. This is a bit
of a bummer, but not unfixable by any means.
There is holes, but not huge, in the sill and it would need to be replaced. Again, everything else looks pretty good. The door was a dent in it, but
not bigtime or unfixable.
The grey is where I put the paint stripper on and started. As you can see, in this section, the work was short lived.
The nose section, which is the only section I don't have a pic of, was put back to metal, and the lower section will also need the standard welding
and repair.. nothing unusual for anyone that knows Splitties...
A closer look..
A pity, but not a disaster! This is going to sound a bit wierd, but it is actually a bit handy, and you could see why someone would want that in
there, but... most wouldn't. By all means, not mandatory to weld it back up.. could just leave it.
The paint peeling is on the roof, which mind you is far better than the roof on my other bus, and possibly the best I have seen...
its got the same style long high back vents..mine is a 66.
this would be good for you Penggy
fairly easy
Interior shot:
No problems here. The floor however is fibreglass.. whether thats good or bad, well I dunno. Seats are all there, belts, everything.. Even got a block
off for the stereo.. actually.. possibly even the stereo come to think of it..
Everything is okay in here.
*Other things and conditions with this bus*
The bus is NOT sold with the current gearbox and rear suspension. It is to be removed either before the sale or after, and an arrangement made re:
alternative gearbox. The car also does not come with a motor or battery.
The bus comes with a few spare bits. A spare engine lid, a spare rear right corner, the front bumper - that is in the shed and not currently on the
car, the VW badge for the front, and other than that, everything you see on the car.
The car is to be picked up. I am in country Victoria, 25 kms from Shepparton.
The starting price is $2000. This is a solid start to a project people. Feel free to ask any questions either on this post or via U2U.
Well.. 145 views, and not one U2U or comment or question..
Must be the price. All offers considered if 2K is too much, but I think you will find that the price is not unrealistic.
well it's great

for what???
Well.
I think it is a fair price, I have seen buses in worse condition and the owners wanting $4K plus. Dont know if they ever sell them or not though???
Its good because you can see what you are getting, too many people would stick and engine in it and bog it over and also give it a quick enamel paint
job and ask $10K for it.
My only concern is someone might buy it and put some more windows in it and not fix the silly one behind the driver.
I think the reason you have had no offers is because too many people think you can buy a driving bus for a couple of grand, I wont go into my usual
rant and rave as even I am fed up with that
God I must be in a good mood. I havent tried to stir anyone up for at least 2 days
Cheers
Dave
