Hi to all.
I just composed a great long message but sadly it didn't post, so I will start again. Forgive me while I try to post this and then edit ...
OK working this time, so now I will try to post a picture ...
Fantastic - everything working. Now for some details.
I need to sell my notchback, and am hoping someone here may be interested. I've had this car for 8 years, and it has been a reliable daily driver. I
have moved jobs and now have much further to travel, so I got a newer car and sadly have to part with the Notch.
Seller's Name: Ross
Suburb / Post Code: Blackburn (VIC) 3130
Price: $990 ono
Contact: via here or mobile 0403 021 678
The car is in reasonable condition, but in the interests of complete honesty I will try to outline all the problems.
There is some rust in some of the panels (predominantly front guards where the badges are attached and in the bood lid) so no RWC. These panels are
easy to replace, so should present no problem. The other major issue is that the red re-spray is peeling in places, particularly the roof, which is
not shown in the photos. Fortunatley this reveals the lovely Honey Brown, and the 2-tone effect is really something special (but I could be a bit
biased!). The interior is quite clean apart from the cracked dash. Mechanically the car is very sound and almost stock, apart from the extractors
which were fitted last year when the exhaust needed work - my mechanic had a used set on hand, and I am very happy with the results. 83,XXX miles on
the clock, and it had 52,XXX when I bought it in 1997.
Please let me know if there is any other information I should include here and I will gladly add them. I will also try to post some other pics.
Cheers,
Ross

And finally, the interior. If there are any other angles or details you want, please let me know and I will try to help.

Not much happening here. Could anyone suggest where else I should advertise? Does my price look reasonable?
Ross
i htink your price is reasonable. you could try
http://www.carsales.com.au/
$10 for how ever long it takes to sell.
KK... you were saying you wanted a notch. hows this then?
Thanks twoguns - I have it listed at carsales, carsguide (free) and The Age. Trading post is more expensive, but I wonder if it is likely to help.
Minor bumpage here.
AussieVeedubbers special - if someone from here buys this car, I will also include 3 VW books (Idiot guide plus two Type 3 manuals). I would also
consider including my inductive timing light (needs a new globe I think) and carb synching kit (cost around $80).
Ross
try just world cars, free photo adverts.
I think your price is rad. bump.
damnit.. if only i had the room.. and i work in nunawading, so close
Now going for $900 OBO if anyone is interested.
stop it your killing me say it's $5000.00 i'll feel better

Bump-diddly-umpty.
I would really like to sell this notch soon to get it out of my way. Any offers - please?
Did you let the rego run out?
If not, why not deliver to Sydders for petrol, a plane ticket and expenses?
Sounds like a nice farewell cruise!!!
Rosso,
Are you saying that with a decent bootlid and a couple of "better" front Guards you could get a RWC? Where is Blackburn in Vic?
Emu
To vwombat: I have re-registered it to keep it "on the road" for the time being.
To Emu: I am not sure what else would be required for RWC, but have been told that rust is likely to be a problem. I am not aware of any other
problems that would effect getting RWC, though there are almost certainly going to be a few little things. If it is really important to someone I
could get the preliminary inspection. Blackburn is a suburb in the South-East of Melbourne, around 25 km from CBD.
RossO,
So it's on the road, Ie registered at this stage. I could "potentially" drive it then?
Emu
Go for it Dude - this looks like a nice project, especially at that price!
Ross0 I've got a mate who's interested. Can I come around for a squiz?

Sold to a forum member. Thanks to everyone who helped. There may be some spare bits and pieces for sale here later . . . .
Thanks Ross! I'm happy to be the new owner, can't wait to get started on the body work, and also to drop it a few inches! Thanks to Ruckus and Empi too! Good looking out...

By the way, what's NOS mean? Is that a term for factory parts or something?:duh
