I would advise anyone thinking of bidding on this splitty to either go and have a look at it first or atleast try and get some pics of the drivers door area. you have been warned!!!
it looks great in the pics... ooh and ohso complete
Looks rooted on the drver side. Look at the door
Bob
Hmm, I love the way the rhf corner seems to always be just out of shot (or in shade) in the ebay site photos.
Still, looks grouss as!
Good luck kdfking! I'd love to bid too, but hey, can't have everything.
the old sneeky photos....but it look pretty cool to me, interesting that it has one barney tailight..
looks very sweet, be interested in some more photos.. especially damaged, rusty parts..
Damn.....damage or no damage, that looks sweet. Good luck guys.
just got photos of the damaged area and now i know why he didnt post pics of the accident corner ...it looks very messy!!i might have to reconsider
how much this splitty is really worth!!im just thinking if he didnt post one of the most important phots from the whole kombi then what else is he
trying to hide???
in my opinion it will deffinatly need a new front mask because of the accident it has been fairly warped..nice kombi ,but still a pitty about the
accident but i suppose if it wasnt for the accident then it would probably be going overseas.when i called him he already told me that hes thinking of
ending the auction early and that there are a few people from the uk very interested.asked him if i could pay him $1000 deposit after the auction
ended and the rest within 7 days (before i saw the photos)and he got pretty pissed at me for no reason but when i told him i had a gold card and just
didnt want to use the interest he stopped going on.probably not somebody that i would want to meet face to face as i dont like people getting pissed
over a cival conversation(i was asking before......to avoid any problems if i did end up winning)but i dont like people assuming that im some sort of
non paying scumbag or compairing me to some person that f**ked him over in the past especially as he doesnt know me.but i think ill have to seriously
reconsider my bid now.

KDFKing - i recon you summed that up pretty well!
Go with your instincts me thinks!
If hes that cagey, what else is amiss with it!?
Its a hard call without cracking a beer and having a close look at it!
gd luck!!
be good if an avd around Adelaide can pop their head in a give a report?
Looks like it`s at Volksfactory in Holden Hill from that pic.
Well if a VW business is flogging it off on ebay and being cagey about it, id say buyer beware!!
But im a synic...too many years of listening to wankers sprouting crap :repuke does that...:blah:blah

Cheers :thumb
ivce got a couple of front doors suit 55 if anyone buys this. i'm putting them in parts tonite
anybody seen this splitty in the flesh yet???
heater tube would be damaged by forklift tynes for sure
going to have a peek this arvo.
Is it possible to get us some decent pics?
went and had a look at this bus today. where do i start?
good points:
mint safari's, trim is excellent, original paint is in exc cond. engine is orig and looks to be in exc cond, 20- eng number, correct for year, (late
march 1955) has nice bumpers, mint centre stop light , one correct tailight, 55, one barndoor tailight, never hit in rear(as far as i can tell) ,
definately original condition.
bad points:
hit vey hard front right door, twisted nose, bent drivers floor, bent drivers side dogleg, not repairable, requires replacement, bent "b" pillar,
panel under seat bent, drivers door bent and requires replacement. has rust in both sills inner and outer, all the way along, all outriggers, jacking
points and centre crossmembers also have rust(i could squash with fingers. ) inner rear floor has rust around all 4 jacking point mounts, so floor
would require repair. inner front nose panel has rust and acc damage, so would probably have to cut off lower nose to repair.(this would be a shame as
the nose has no rust???) why i dont know. as it has been sitting for so long, brakes, battery, fuel lines, tyres etc are all perished. forgot to add
someones cut a hole in the roof about 150x150 and stuck a fresh air vent box in.
there are offers of $5000 on the table so if u are serious, u need to act.
i would buy it to repair if i sold the ghia, but i think i have enough projects on the go.
hope this helps for those that are interested.
p.s. whoever buys it, can i buy the barny tailight pleeeaasssee!
