Subie power LWB J&S buggy f/s (Bargain!!!)
pete wood - March 9th, 2005 at 03:13 PM

This is Zak. A great buggy at a bargain price.

ZKK 973
Blacktown

Specs:
Lengthened to a four seater, raised, freshly painted 68 J&S buggy body. Custom winscreen and full soft top and side screens
Fully restored 60 Beetle pan.

IRS conversion with type 3 wagon torsion bars, clearanced shock towers, wide 5 early type 3 wagon drums and tough dog off road shocks.
Raised K/L pin front end with adjusters, Sherman wide 5 disc kit and tough dog shocks.

Subaru EJ25 quadcam 2.5l boxer engine with factory loom and computer complete with self diagnostics. Custom exhaust and twin element foam unifilter.
002 1800 kombi box, fully rebuilt, Lobro Kombi CVs and modified stubs and drive shafts.

Cobra classic racing buckets plus modded rear seat, with baby harness anchor point.

4 point roll cage and extensive underframe.

American eagle fuch style allow wheels and 31inch rear tyres.

4 speaker stereo, 2 x 4", 2 x 6x9", 4x40w Sanyo CD/radio.

fully engineered and certified
fully legal
fully registered in NSW as of July 2004

Zak was built over the space of about 4 years with almost no dollar spared. Every part was new, fully rebuilt or excellent 2nd hand condition. To build even a similar buggy would cost $30k +

As a car, Zak is smooth and quiet, but as fast as a new clubsport.

The price... $22k or best offer

Also prepared to swap for an early squareback + extra cash.

I want a good price, but I am willing to talk about reasonable offers. Email me if you think you might have one.

Zak comes with a second gearbox (2nd hand but never used) any relevant spares and an assortment of wide 5 offroad wheels and tyres.

No dreamers please.

pete wood - March 9th, 2005 at 09:07 PM

Hey airfooled,
Just got no real time or opportunities to use it offroad, and besides I need something I can fit more gear into, babies take up bulk room, hence the squareback. Also we'll need a new car soon so the cash will go in part to that.

ducky - March 19th, 2005 at 06:35 PM

I know its worth it but I dont reckon too many folk on this site would pay the price its worth.
But I'll bump ya to up the chances

Andy42 - March 19th, 2005 at 06:50 PM

Yeh I gota agree with ducky. I reckon you should try unique car magazine or something similar. Good luck with the sale. I hope I never have to sell mine when it is finished as no-one would ever want to pay the amount I would need to get for it.

pete wood - March 20th, 2005 at 12:21 PM

Guys, $25k is my starting figure.

jakjones - March 20th, 2005 at 06:59 PM

How much for that buggy without the EJ 25 engine, and a vw engine put back in or is this not an option ??

jakjones - March 20th, 2005 at 07:02 PM

Does it sit on a full length pan ??

pete wood - March 21st, 2005 at 07:48 AM

yep, a full length pan,

taking the subie out would kind of miss the point of the car in many ways, it was built around it. It's better than any VW engine you'll get for double that price. Not only that, but I'm not spending anymore money on engines. You buy it as is, if you want to do that, do it yourself after you've bought it.

What sort of price are you thinking or are you just toying with the idea?
