63 Splitty dual cab SOLD THANKS!!!
Split nut - March 27th, 2005 at 04:42 PM

Regrettably offering my 63 dual cab for sale. I've had it for about a year and in that time given it a new paint job, new brakes, Rob King's dropped spindles, straight axle conversion, new west coast metric rubbers inside and out, new shockies all round, plenty of new suspension parts up front and new panels were welded in where necessary. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it looks nice and drives well. It runs strong with a good quiet gearbox, good tyres and should easily pass roadworthy. Has gates too. I'll try my best a posting pics but will email to anyone interested. $15,000.

Will sell for $12,000 without the gates.

What rust repairs had to be done?

I replaced a section under the driver's feet, both side sills just in front of the back wheels and the battery tray, the only other rust was very minor pinholes that I sandblasted and filled. The doors and underbody were rust free, though repairs have been done on the underbody by someone long ago. When I bought it, I saw that some panels had been replaced underneath a long while ago and the rust hadn't come back, so it must have been done right.

The fella I bought it off, bought it off a farm where it had been sitting in the shed for about 10 years apparently. He just had the motor rebuilt, the brakes done and drove it until I bought it off him. He only drove it on weekends to take stuff to the dump and he'd only done about 2000k's in it and I've done about the same since.

I've included a BEFORE pic.

Thanks.
