Hey, I live in California and I just stumbled onto this community. I was wondering how much do decent condition right hand drive late 60's bugs pop
up for on here? My girlfriend's brother really wants to get one, and so I thought I'd try to find out how much they run.
(I've got the '69 in my avatar, and he and my girlfriend share custody of a '72 super)
we also say how long is a piece of strin? !
ie., what codition u want it?
any extras ie extractors mags twin carbs, reconditioned engine, new paint
they all come into the equation.
keep surfen the cars 4 sale here on this site & you may get a project for $1500. You may save on import duty in the states (we would even more if
the car was damaged)
then spend $4-5,000 and you have a nice ride everything schmick (aussie slang for great mate)
or buy one completely restoed
good luck and do your importing homework
Hi,
I have sent You a U2U with places to look in Australia for RHD aussie beetles.
Firstly, Our 1965-66-67 Beetles are very similar to Your 1964 Beetle... No 12v - No large Glass - No vertical headlamps etc..
We didn't get the one year only 1967 model beetle at all...
We had all the changes in one go in 1968....
Our 1968> 1975 torsion bar front end Beetles had Swing Rear axles instead of IRS rear end.... but the 1968-70 also had front disc brakes. All the
Super Beetles had front disc brakes plus IRS rear end.
So torsion bar front end beetles from 1971>1975 did NOT have front disc brakes or IRS rear axles...

I also must add, that this site rocks. It combines two of my favorite things, Australia and Bugs.
good luck bud;;
