1966 Kombi for sale....sold
Daniel - April 20th, 2005 at 10:41 AM

Hi,

Unfortunately I have to sell my bus. It's a '66 RHD with a camper kit in it. In the last year I have replaced everything underneath with new or reconditioned parts.
The front now runs a 4 inch narrowed adjustable beam and new late model (Vanagon) disks with a booster set up from Kruizinwagon. The wheel bearings, ball joints, steering dampner, tie rods and brake parts have been replaced.
The rear has been changed to a Kruizinwagon bolt in IRS conversion and also has adjustable springplates. New CV's and wheel bearing were fitted and reconditioned drums bolted up.
The engine is an 1835 with all the goodies on it, AS41 case, 42x37.5 043 heads, counterweighted and 8 dowelled 69mm crank, 40mm dells. Will cruise on 70 all day and will go off the clock if you want it to.
All the parts like starter motor, shocks, clutch, pressure plate, and brake lines have been replaced.
The body is 95% rust free, with the only bits of rust is a small spot in the roof gutter and some in the passenger footwell.
The jailbars, roofrack, all pop-outs and the safari frames are from Creative Engineering, the safari hardware is all original.

Price NZD$20,000.

Interior: Sorry, these were taken it the garage so are a bit dark. It consists of two facing bench seats with a table that folds down to make a double bed.

Seen this on Indian Automotive site and the story Kimm Garland posted. Sure is a sweet ride and a shame you have to get rid of it.

Cheers guys,

I haven't got any shipping costs to get it over there, but it shouldn't cost too much.

All the mods that have been done have been certified by an engineer. It's something we have to do over here, don't know if that applies over there too, but it just tells you that everything has been done properly.

vwtyp2 - April 22nd, 2005 at 10:14 AM

do you want to swap for a V6 engine Bay window?

Fossil - April 22nd, 2005 at 12:42 PM

mod's certification depends on the states trasport ro traffic authority rules
