Brad - April 21st, 2005 at 01:09 PM

does the rad have a shroud or any ducting ?
That is good buying for $10 000

Does it still have the Custom Box ?? If so what ratios ?

vwtyp2 - April 21st, 2005 at 06:59 PM

yes, both a shroud and ducting. and a thermo fan on the rad too.
Yes, still has the custom box.
std 1st and 2nd
Albins std ratio 3rd
Albins 0.70 4th
Albins Super diff.

Brad - April 21st, 2005 at 07:13 PM

man that thing would be worth more than $10 000 in parts ..

Good buying

vwtyp2 - April 22nd, 2005 at 10:12 AM

the gearbox cost me $3k.

no I won't part it out.

Fossil - April 22nd, 2005 at 12:45 PM

no takers on this that's on and off the for sale or swap - :duh

vwtyp2 - April 22nd, 2005 at 11:31 PM

we gould do the maths.

1: find a good solid straight kombi. or
1a: get a Konbi that's not so solid of straight and spend heaps on bodywork.
2: get a nice shiny paintjob.
3: get a v6 engine or similar alternative.
4: fit aforementioned engine yourself, or pay to get it fitted.
5: get it all engineered.
6: put some nice big 17" rims on it.
7: get a gearbox built to handle the torque of the engine.

let's stop there before we put people off doing there own conversions.

I dont think you need to convince anyone, that it's xcellent vaule for $$$. I would think ppl dont have the $$$ or perhaps not after that type of VW...

...and yes I would snap it up in a heart beat...

it's a T4 I'm after, although a type 4 would be pretty cool, I need a van though.

pmgbus - May 2nd, 2005 at 11:24 PM

if i had a spare 10k to park, i'd buy it as its a bloody good tow car, 110 up and down hill with heavy tandem trailer and splitty on back, and when some tosser in a magna gives u shit, put right foot down and see u laters ville! before i knew it, i was doing 140 and wasn't even trying..sorry dan but the temptation was too great!

vwtyp2 - May 4th, 2005 at 08:36 PM

;) bump.

old pic with the BRM's

greedy51 - May 5th, 2005 at 09:08 PM

why do you want a t4 why not a t3 just wondering

vwtyp2 - May 6th, 2005 at 06:24 PM

could be tempted towards a T3 if the right one came along.
a Tri Star, or a Carat or something ;)
I've driven both, and the T4 in my opinion drives nicer, but is a bit boring to drive though.
the T3 looks more like the "traditional" shape kombi, and not like every other van on the road, as does the T4.
