I am amazed Trevally had so much trouble trying to sell his 2 Beetles in S.A on this forum. I finally got off my backside and went for a look today.
The white one is a 71 Superbug with a couple of minor dents, a bit of rust in the lower passenger door and a minor knock in the motor but other than that it is in perfect condition. According to the paperwork that was with it it has only had two lady owners and with the service history and the obvious condition I would say that the 29,000 miles on the speedo is "GENUINE" and will take very little to restore.
The blue one is a bit rough but mechanically perfect. I am posting this thread as I felt somewhat sorry that Trevally had been messed about so much and if one of the S.A. members on this forum had bothered to look they would have got themselves a "BARGAIN".
TOO LATE. I gladly paid the man his $600.00 for both, got in them and "DROVE" them both home.
