gday all its sad day but i have to sell my dream 55 splitty project. it has factory safari's which are complete except for 1 wingnut and are in good condition! the body is really straight (straightest i have seen) but duing its life was converted to a trailer in doing this they chopped out the rear end (see pics) it needs usual kombi repairs like cargo floor, inner/outter sils some crossmembers, section infront of rear wheel arch. it also needs a cab divider as this was cut out also!
i have a rear end assembly out of a 60 split that would go in with the car it has a supposdly rebuilt gearbox(see pics).
the car is complete in that i mean all th right tail lights, centre brake light, head lights , licence plate lense, all glass is original.
dosnt include a engine.
one of the major advantages of this kombi is the nose is perfect and all panles that need replacing are avalible through various VW places
this would be worth more in parts considering tail lights, safari's(nothing like original's), etc etc
im asking $1600 just to cover what i have paid for it the money will be used to help me restore my dual cab kombi
cheers
rhys

This is a great buy guys.
You would almost be taking on loss on this rhys.

The dam bums that turned it into a trailer need to be shot.

This is a great bus to restore, seen worse restored and he is right with the nose, its next to perfect

VDUBXTC - May 19th, 2005 at 04:57 PM

What do you mean by no back on it?

It was complete but some nob cut the torsion tube out of it to make a trailer out of it.

kombi_kid - May 19th, 2005 at 05:40 PM

yer the torsion tubes are cut out but still has chassis rails, gearbox horns etc
its very strange what they have done!
