squizy - May 31st, 2005 at 10:34 PM

Hey Ron, what's the story? You were all guns firing last week on this? You still going to keep dubbing somewhere, somehow dude? Don't disappear!

Doug Sweetman - June 1st, 2005 at 11:18 AM

What a shame, I really thought that you were going to be the one to do great things with this bus. I guess it will go on to its 27th owner now.......

Doug Sweetman - June 1st, 2005 at 11:19 AM

I forgot to ask - give us some details of what you are going to be dragging ? And whatever happened to the 915 tranny you had in this ?

wacked1 - June 1st, 2005 at 12:15 PM

handycam will keep you in mind.

yeah squizy i know but i've always wanted to drag race and in the bus it will be a bit hard the current motor i have is a heavily worked 350 chevy which runs on avgas it pushes out about 450 hp and even behind the porsche trans the trans will not last long i'm in no hurry to sell the bus and if it doesn't sell i'll use it as a tow car, i picked up a full chassis 70's galant it has 20 inch tubs funny car roll cage all the safety you need for racing. so you never know i might just keep the bus after all.

doug richard holtz from vforce purchased the trans from me this week.

i'll still be dubbing my son wants my kombi or a beetle, i'll get one soon and fix it over the next couple of years
cheers

frenzix - June 18th, 2005 at 11:21 PM

ey ron, i have to ask what happened to the leyland engine? is it easy to whack back in and why did you start the holden conversion?

Timmy

wacked1 - June 20th, 2005 at 05:56 PM

hi Tim sold the leyland, cause you can't do any mods to them without costing a fortune, ie i wanted a 4bbl manifold for the leyland, if you can find one which i did was quoted 700 bucks for it, when i got the holden conversion i bought a 308 with a little work for 300 then i got a complete rebuilt top end highly worked heads L34 valves big port job roller rockers edelbrock manifold big cam pushrods lifters for 500 so for 100 more i had a motor which i could buy parts for from any corner shop for with double the HP which was what i was after. Cheers
