1978 Double Door Kombi Project !!! - FREE - Pics
Brad - June 23rd, 2005 at 12:41 PM

Name - Brad
Location - Stafford

Item - I have a 1978 Double Door Kombi Project for sale. It has all the door and most other bits. It is rough and has some rust.

I feel guilty for letting it sit around so I am looking for a new owner .

Price - FREE FREE FREE

Catch - I am only interested in passing it onto someone who will restore / rebuild her. Now I can wreck her out and make money but have no interest in that as she is a rare unit being so late and a double door.

Located in Brisbane

I'd be interested for sure. Love the panels and a double door wow. I have a 73 panel at the moment I am slowly fixing up. Hard when it is registered and your daily drivers at the same time. Send me some pics for sure.

type_one@hotmail.com

does it have a motor etc. i.e. it is rolling and I could get it to Sydney

Ask me any question you like to make sure i am a good new home if successful.

Cheers mate

Ok to clarify a few points.

It is a window van as in a factory 8 seater ( I think .. will have to check) It is not a panel.

It has no motor, gearbox or glass.

Was registered in 2001 from memory.

Rust wise I would say it has between $2000 - $3000 worth of work to be done if you were paying to get it done. Thta being said this is a guide not a quote.

Basically she is a rolling shell. Has a dash, and few other bits has all doors.

Be interesting to see, never seen a double door 8 seater myself. Pretty sure VW never made a middle row seat that folds both sides. Windowed van maybe?
Sounds very cool anyway.

bigbaja - June 24th, 2005 at 12:53 PM

i know where i can get a middle seat that folds on both sides here in bris
but they need a seat that folds on the drivers cause they have an ex left hand drive and there slider is on our passengers side

they are willing to swap

Brad - June 28th, 2005 at 10:22 PM

It is actually not to bad. It needs good wash and a few rust repairs but is straight

wezley - June 29th, 2005 at 09:16 AM

looks like an old raaf bus that has been repainted?
