Hi all,
Sadly I have to let the Notch go as I have no time or the space to continue maintaining it. I was hoping that my situation will change this year or
next, but there os no possibility of that.
So it is up for sale after 2 1/2 years of owning it.
Short history AFAIK:
I bought the notch from the second owner who bought it from the son of the old man who owned it since new. The car had been parked for a year or so
by the original owner. So the previous owner did the blue slip, lowered it and used it for a year, at which point I bought off him (Jan 2003) and has
been a daily driver every since.
I then took it to VW Village in Kensington to do a full service. I have since then maintained the car myself changing the oil regularly, greasing,
etc. I also bought good second hand seats, repro 2.0 fuchs with 195/50-15 tyres (have about 70-80% thread), a second hand carpet and some parts.
Little rust is starting to appear on the left bottom rocker and behind the rear window. There is also a bit of rust on the bottom of the left door (I
haven't checked the right door). All other rust I can see seems to be surface. Pan is solid except the bodgy job the previous owner or the
original owner did in the battery area where a non-genuine piece was welded.
There is play in the steering but I purchases a good second hand steering box (but no time or space to install it). I also have a new front
windshield seal (again, no time or space) and a good second hand Type 3 dist to replace the crappy 009 that somebody put in there.
The only thing that has gone wrong mechanically since I owned it was when the accelerator cable broke a year ago. Replaced it easily.

Nice notch... don't want to sell the steering box seperate??
If so could you give me a price?
Yeah, he said $1800 for the steering box and it comes with a free notch!
hi,
I will let you know. First I want to offer it with the notch as a package, if a prospective buyer doesn't want the box then I will let you know.
cheers.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The yellow spot on the driver's side door is primer, the door had been hit in the past and there is a dent there. The dent
does not hinder the operation of the door or the window, it's just cosmetic. I do have the brighwork (the chrome strip that goes on the middle of
the door following the line form back to front).
Ah, also, the doors have 1 year old good quality door seals (not the brazilian crappy stuff).

Hi,
It has a 1600 Dual carbs (the whole engine is stock aside from the stupid 009 dizzy). the engine in type3s is a pancake style and the type 1 (beetle,
super, etc) are upright engines. I am in Sydney, the car is registered in NSW until January 2006. victori and QLD people keep talking about RWC, to
my knowledge here in NSW that does nto exist, or am i wrong?
octa I will be talking to my partner about this over the weekend, I'll let you know by monday
where in Sydney are you ?
this is a nice car im sorry to see you sell it here is another pic of it

hmm, since we lost posts I am jsut reiterating that the notch was bought by a fellow dubber... thanks all for the interest...
Enjoy Stefan
