I am just starting my search for my ‘soul-mate’ kombi, which I intend on refurbishing (note – not full-on, ‘save from the ravages of time’ restoration project as I don’t have the time or skill)

I am after a ’71 or ’72 model, original microbus (not a converted panel) with the following basic requirements:
· Minimal to no rust (limited welding skills)
· Capable of being an 8 seater (in preference to 9 seater) – will source seats if needed – no pop-tops please
· Runner with sound engine and ‘box (will rebuild if needed, just need to be able to move in/out of garage)
· Preferably white, but any colour considered
· Easy to inspect as I won’t buy sight unseen (drive up to 2 hours, or flights to Melb / Bris / Gold Coast)
· Up to $2000 for vehicle at my house in Newcastle (i.e incl. transport)

Not much to ask, I hope!! But I am not in a rush and will wait for the right vehicle (year is most important as I want an early bay with front discs)
