twoguns - August 29th, 2005 at 07:58 PM

well, how impulsive is this... after a week at the snow and having met greedy to collect some bits, i have come to the decision that i think a 4wd carravelle might be the go to add to the fleet.

does anybody have some leads on one?

any feedback on the 4wd?

contact me via u2u.
thanks
wes

I been looking for one as well , so far have found a few on your side of the world but just to hard to get them back .The toyota that was for sale here would of been a good buy but the vw would be a ( softer ride ) for your bones Wes .
The 4x4 is very expencive but the motor dyes first .just drop a subaru in and your away .But these days some of the import vans are so cheap new why would would you get a van and change the motor ect .Have a look a import turbo 4x4 van I have seen them on the web for 15K or less .

Wes these are great cars, i have sold a few just recently, the first one i had for a while, was a trakka fitted high top, was a sweet car, also the second one i had for a few weeks, was a x telstra semi camper, again real nice car, i do come across them from time to time, cheers Andy

thanks guys. yeah i am still leaning to keep vw, and yes the plan is for subi upgrade, so i am not too worried about the motor side. thinking 4wd so as to get tot he snow and stuff. places my slammed splittas cant get to.

saw a twincab in jindabyne on the weekend. i like htem but he lady is thinking van.

There are not too many (if any) Caravelle Syncros in Aus. They are usually Transporter window vans or Panels (ex telstra) They are not too difficult to get comfortable though. Find youself an early 1.9 Caravelle for about 3 or 4 k and swap the bits over. Then sell the Craravelle with the transporter interior. Not so simple, but if you can restore 2 splitties you don't seem to be frightened by a challenge!

Wes, Found the one advertised last week, it is here.

Price is good, has the good air conditioner and it is a factory Caravelle. Has a few K's.

I have recently located a dual cab syncro (actually two).. Trying my best to convince the owner to sell.. (he has just bought Toyota 4wd) But he thinks will take it to the farm.. Other one, (i have been told by guy who does the service) the owner will never part with.. Haven't spoken directly to him yet though.. There was a syncro van for sale at a recent VW meet.. Can't recall where just now but will think on it.. Good luck in your hunt.. It's a bit of fun.. Rob

Not a Caravelle - but looks good. Suppose to have a rebuilt gear box

I have a 1.8 litre audi trubo dual cab synchro with air and power steer, new decoupler, rebuilt gear box/diff and straight thru drive shaft instead of V/C. Greg 40461120(07)
