Off Topic. Wanted vintage truck
shaihulud - February 25th, 2006 at 08:52 PM

I know that this is off topic, but I am willing to give it a try here.

At the Royal Australian Air Force Aviation Heritage Museum in Bull Creek, Perth, where I am volunteer, we need a 1940s or 1950s, 3 or 4 ton truck to be donated to us or given to us on an extended loan, or we can pay a reasonable amount for it.

We are in the process of restoring to working condition an Armstrong Siddley Cheeta 9 air cooled radial aero engine from an Avro Anson air craft. That's about 17 litres and 650 horse power.

We want to mount it on the back of a truck of suitable size, type and vintage so that we can be big boys with a really cool air cooled toy which we can take to air shows, car shows, etc.

For authenticity the truck needs to be of British make; either, Bedford, Morris, Austin, Commer (a Commer Knocker would be the coolest). We will paint it in air force two tone blues.

If you can help, please let me know.
