pettles - March 13th, 2006 at 09:27 PM

Hi Guys,
I'm still looking for a type 3 but have come to the realisation that the initial "wish" may not be all that viable.

All the prerequisites at the moment are:

pre 70's

good original condition with no (or minimal rust)

fastback prefered, then notch or square

priced around $4000 - 6000

62deluxe - March 13th, 2006 at 09:35 PM

Yeah seen that somewhere........

jo_tas - March 13th, 2006 at 09:39 PM

Hey
Just letting you know, top pic is a '70 onwards model.. not a '67 to '69 model as you requested.. so i'm not sure if you'll find that colour on an earlier car!

Fastback's are better for extra luggage space in the back, and a little more legroom i think, but IMHO the Notchback is a much nicer shape :D

But then again, i'm biased! :D

jo_tas - March 13th, 2006 at 10:40 PM

Thats beautiful!
Are those rear wheel arches flared? 'Cause i might need to do that with my car.. any more pics of it?

VDUBXTC - March 14th, 2006 at 02:42 AM

done.

No idea on the rear arches sorry

pettles - March 14th, 2006 at 08:41 AM

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the fast replies.

jo_tas: I was wondering about that image, thanks for clarifying.

manx_xtc: No quite what we're looking for at this stage, but I'll keep it in mind. Cheers

pettles - March 14th, 2006 at 09:48 PM

Hi all, thanks for the replies.

empi: Nice machine, would prefer fasty but will think on it.

mscabrio: Have already been hiting up all of the internet sites, but thanks for the reminders.

Liam_81: Have already had a good look, but it isn't really what we've been looking for. Although a trip to canberra would be nice (we lived in canberra for 4 years upto 2003 whilst going to uni, great place!).

steve-89: May be interested, colour still may not fly with my lady though. I'll get back to you.

Paddo: Cheers for the link, the machine looks great. Once again don't think colour is right (although we do own a back car at moment!). Will think on it!

Boostn - March 15th, 2006 at 02:28 AM

Hi pettles,
I have a notch like Jim Gow's sky blue notch(the third one of your pics) but mine's mint green with black roof. It has new tyres, white walls, engine, never hit clean, good original S model, original hounds tooth interior, clean carpets, quick shifter, lowered and accessories.

Firm 8K

Cheers for getting back to me!

Thats the first time someone has said Canberra is great, people normally think it is dull and boring!

pete wood - March 15th, 2006 at 08:53 AM

Empi and Boostn, I am VERY interested in both your cars. However, the buggy I currently own needs to go first. Are either of you interested in a swap of some sort?

I'm prepared to talk about ALL reasonable offers. I know the gap in prices looks big but I think maybe we can come to some sort of arrangement.

http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=49442

Please call me if you think you might like to own a very cool buggy.

BTW, I assume both cars are absolutely RUST FREE. right?

pettles - March 15th, 2006 at 10:06 PM

Hey Boostn, very nice machine. Could be interested but can't do 8K (not for a notch!). Very very nice though!

Hi Matt, sorry to hear about your nan.
Car sounds nice (and you definatly shouldn't be sending it to the wreckers!). We've decided that we really want a pre 70's model, so we will not be interested (yet!). This may change in the comming weeks if we have not luck.
Cheers
Nick
