There is a shorty for sale in a yard here in Adelaide, but is pricey, think it's $6000.
Slammed rear and venetians all round, light grey etc. Looks sweet but dunno what it's runnin.

Liam_81 - March 17th, 2006 at 06:12 AM

Bit out of my price range, but thanks for the heads up. I am looking at one next weekend, it is on the same farm that we are checking out a splitty. So hopefully we can come home with a nice splitty and a nice t3.

oSXC_T_3 - March 17th, 2006 at 09:31 AM

sorry if i am wrong but pretty much u are looking for a pre70 squareback? i think it is late real late 69 early 70 that the shape change from short to long.

good luck and hope u find a sweet one...steve.

Liam_81 - March 17th, 2006 at 09:43 AM

yup... it's the earlier models. Wasn't too sure when they changed shape. Thanks for clearing that up!

tourer TL - March 17th, 2006 at 05:02 PM

Yep, i think the pre 70's are the best model although i got a 70. Good luck with it mate, for 4 grand u should be able to get a pretty decent one!
Cheers
Matt

Andy - March 17th, 2006 at 05:14 PM

Don't forget '69 was old body on late pan (IRS etc).
So unless you are specific on a year model or running gear you want a '69 would be the pick of the bunch in the old shape body.

NCH-003 - March 17th, 2006 at 06:35 PM

So basicly you are looking for an early..

Liam_81 - March 18th, 2006 at 07:34 AM

yes i am after an early model notch. I thought they were commonly known as short noses... obviously not.... ????

Thanks for that info Andy, if i do end up finding one, i will keep in mind that about the 69's.

BenettonVW - March 19th, 2006 at 10:06 PM

I have a 66 on 16" Fuchs. No motor. Rolling shell and would need more work, so if you are looking for an immediate driver, then this isn't for you.

U2U if interested.

Nah its less than $6,000, its $5,999!!!
Its written on the side window that its a 2.1 Litre motor which is probably most of the reason its $6K. Nice tidy car, now that my wife has seen it she wants a squareback.

Dragbug can you U2U me some details on these early squares you have, ie how tidy, how rusty, how much $ etc

Cheers
Greg

tourer TL - April 2nd, 2006 at 10:44 PM

Here is that squareback on south road. Its awesome, dumped on it's arse! She'd go alright too thanks to the 2.1L.
Cheers
