LOVE the pop top

V8 conversion looks very schmick!

Trying to work out if i like the front bumper - think i do.

Schmoburger - March 29th, 2006 at 11:48 PM

Hmmm... I have to be a prude and say I don't think much of the wheels or the awful bumpers.. and it could be a little lower... but on the plus side, the poptop is the neatest idea ever, the jarrah floor and stainless steel furnishings look frickin awsome as... and I'd never be one to complain about having 3 and a half litres of shiny growling V8 in the ass-end of a kombi! :tu:

Anthiron - March 30th, 2006 at 12:10 AM

ive seen this at a show before.

looked very neat and well done

yes, the poptop is amazingly subtle

the bumper, i think it's just the best of many bad compromises we seen over the years. Wouldn't do much for the departure angle.

I'd also be a little concerned that it's a bog stocker auto. I'd have thought it'd need stronger clutches or something.

and 27 grand...well it'd had be as special as he says to get near that.

david - March 30th, 2006 at 08:12 AM

were you not trying to sall your baja for $25,000 at one stage,i dare say a lot more work gone in to the kombi than a little ol baja hehehe

pete wood - March 30th, 2006 at 11:33 AM

well I was asking 22k actually. And it's not a Baja, it's a buggy. you might be surprised how much work went into it.

have a look here if you're interested.

BTW, the point I was making was that he'll be lucky if people pay what it's worth.

heavy price on it but who knows

baybuscamperkid - April 2nd, 2006 at 09:54 AM

I've been wanting to do a poptop like that

bus356 - April 4th, 2006 at 01:12 PM

Yeah I wanna do a poptop like that... reckon it would be hard/expensive??

Schmoburger - April 5th, 2006 at 10:15 AM

not so much ex[ensive... and I'd assume not too hard... but you'
d need a plan and a fairly good idea of what you are doing before you started...cos given the right conditions (clueless idiot with powertools...ie. yours truly...)it could get messy... :duh :P

Twokombies - April 5th, 2006 at 02:27 PM

How can someone spend 40k on something and have a bumper on it that looks as awful as that?
Goes to show that money can't buy taste.
