Not VW - Could be the most orig 1600 in Aus

Hi All,
This is a friend of mine's, it a Datsun 1600 DUH and is absolutely showroom condition. It would be hard to find one more original. It has had a few places touched up with paint but the rest is factory. Think he is the second or 3rd owner but has been garaged for a long time. He is after serious buyers only and if you U2U me I'll out you in touch. Would be a great museum piece and a shame if someone butchered it with a SR20 or something.

I love the 1600. Truth be told I am really a Datsun man deep down. I have had 5 of these over the past 10 years. Most of mine have been used and abused as rally and track cars. My last 1600 I turned into a rally car. It was simliar to the one above. Same colour, 2nd owner and immaculate. I butchered it and turned it into a very quick and competitive rally car. Just how god intended them to be!!

There are photos of the clayton VW assembly line that show a Beetle then a Datsun 1600.... in 1976....
both on the same assembly line......

So, they are nearly related..... LOL

nice.....but 12grand buys me a lot of volkswagen
