I've just had a new 1600 enigine put in as the old one was on its way out (the engine has a year warranty on it at the moment), as well as a new clutch plate. The wiring has all recently been re-done as well, and the body is in tip top shape.

Nice looking car, drives super well with a warranty for the next 12 months, can't do much better than that with many cars this age. Approx 50 kms done on this new engine so far, so have the original experience of a first hand Beetle. Had heaps of cash spent in the last few months on it, and it's a much better car than it was when I bought it two years ago for seven grand.
