Thanks Guys!
All going well, I think I might try and get a look at Jay's Grandpa's this weekend. Have a couple lined up to look at.
What are thoughts on these?

These three, along with Jays, I'm hoping to have a look at. Although I don't really want to spend over $4k.
Any opinions (as I'm a newbie) would be great.
Cheers.
Oops.
And another.

Firstly welcome to VW world !!!!
People will give you all sorts of advice in relation to what sort of bug to buy as people have different personal preferences. I think that for
everyday driving the later ones tend to be a little more "user friendly". The white 1974 1300 from Croydon looks pretty clean and tidy. Don't be
put off by the fact that its a 1300 model, some people will say that the 1300 is the poor cousin of the L bug - super bug. I also have a 1974 1300 and
have been told by my VW mechanic and a number of other specialist VW people that the 1300's are more reliable and more solid (something to do with
the suspension - I don't really understand all the mechanical technical info!). I am also biased on the 1974 model as that was the year I was born!
If I didn't have mine I would be giving this the once over !
However I would give Jay's grandpa's car a serious lookover. Jay is right into the VW scene and knows a lot about them. Her bug is immaculate. She
is trustworthy and I would trust that she would give you an honest and reliable account of the car.
Good luck in searching for your bug !
The '65 looks the goods
