*SOLD*
was $3000 now $2500!
I'm advertising this for a mate of mine... he bought it about this time last year dismantled and has now brought it back to life...
It's been totally pulled down and stripped to bare metal and had a complete ground-up rebuild (except the engine), and full respray. :bounce
It's a 1967 model, good running 1300 motor, 12V electrics, widened 14" steel rims with hubcaps (off a Kombi perhaps?) with 245/60's on the back and
195/60's up front, rebuilt brakes, new linkpins, very good original interior, towel-rail bumpers. resprayed god knows what color but its nice!
As I said, it's just been restored, so therefore is totally free of rust, and from what I saw of it dismantled, it had very very little to start
with.
The vehicle is being sold unregistered and will (I assume, unless Ron has had it blueslipped already) need to go over the pits... but it shouldnt have
any trouble getting passed for rego.
It was bought for $3000 dismantled, and is now being sold for $2500 all put together and nicely rebuilt...
The Bug is located in Falls Creek, NSW (between Jervis Bay and Nowra)... about 2.5hrs south of Sydney.
You can contact Ron, the seller, on 02 44478785.
Here's some pics of the old girl... if you need any other close up pics then ask in this thread or u2u me and I'll see what I can do... just dont
ask for shots of the belly cos the thing is waaaaaay lower to the ground than I feel like crouching!
pics...
I can tell you now, the bug does seriously look as good up close as it does in the photos! :bounce
Cheers!

Any pics of the resto in progress?
Sorry mate... none at all that I'm aware of... Ronny's one of them simple old pommy blokes who just does whatever it take to get the job done
without much farting around... ie taking photo's
As it is these pics were only taken by me this afternoon.
But that said, a lot of the work was done already before the bug was bought (in pieces)... I can tell you however that the first time I saw it it was
a rolling shell partially stripped back to bare metal, and there was no rust or dodgy repairs... had a look under the guts today (as best I could
anyway... cosidering the lack of clearence heheeh), and its squeaky clean and spotless too. Definitely a thorough job.
I was going to buy this before I got my Kombi, but I opted against it, as I rathered something I could drive straight up rather than have to put it
all together and ass around with rego and such.
But yeh... Ya best bet would be to give Ron a call and have a yarn with him if you want to know anthing that I havent mentioned...
You could always ask him I spose if he took any pics of the resto.. but I doubt it hehe. Cos he didnt actually buy it with intent to onsell it
straight away, it was gonna be his own toy... but for whatever reason it now has to go.
I'd buy it myself except that I dont have a lazy 3 G's kicking around hehehe
Looks great. Just what a mate is after for his 1st v dub.
Will contact him today and let him know.
Cheers

Heheheh.. yep.. she's quite the camera-hog.. always trying to upstage omeone or another!
colour is original VW torquoise
im sure someone will no the code
-Joel
Mmmmmm... it's a gorgeous color. It used to be yellow when it
was first bought, looked crap.
Oh btw guys.. news flash!
I noticed today that the engine is actually not a 1300... was checking it out in closer detail and noticed that it has an H at the beginning of the
engine number so therefore it is a 1500 Kombi engine.
Sorry if I dissapointed anyone.
its more than likely a bug 1500 but given that 1600 jugs bolt straight in and are cheaper its probably a 1600 these days as are most of them

:bounce
Hmmm by the look of this I think I might end up being able to afford it before it get's bought! :duh:
I stopped the other day to look at this i thought the price was $800 on the window, if it was a bare metal paint job why didnt he take the guards or the door strikers off when he painted the car.Just wondering????
stuff nose mate .... but it was most certainly bare when I first laid
eyes on it in his garage not long after he got it.
as for the price.. not sure... maybe he's dropped it?... I'll have a look this arvo.
nope...$3000 still.
And still for sale! :bounce
doobiedoobiedoo...
Was speaking to Ron yesterdy and he said he'd drop it to $2500... :bounce
That's like $500 less than what he paid for it in bits! :duh
Took this for a burn this arvo... runs as good as it looks!
Sounds awsome, starts easy as pie, engine runs smooth as silk and makes good power, gearbox shifts beautifully, steering is tight as wet jeans on a
curvy ass... it really is awsome!
