Brisbane CBD, South Brisbane

76camper - September 4th, 2006 at 06:03 PM

# Engine incl. wiring, ECU, fuel pump (130,000km's) - $650
# 2Lt gearbox (inspected) - $600
# Adapter plate and billit flywheel ( brand new) - $500
# Heavy duty clutch (brand new) - $250
Get in touch asap if your interested.
Cheers jeremy

76camper - September 5th, 2006 at 10:50 PM

decision time...

Can you tell me a few more things....
Have you got a cross member?
Is the harness already modified?
any exhaust or cooling system?
Is it a fuel injection setup?
Will it fit in a baywindow engine bay without much chopping?

i know this is a good price, just trying to workout how much more its going to cost to finish the install

any ideas on postage to syd?

Engine is mounted in vehicle with custom mounts.
Harness is modified, ECU needs chip to by-pass security system, g/box and speed sensor (Torqtech on the Gold Coast can do it).
Have exhaust from commodore with O2 sensor.
Have copper pipes and radiator (not fitted).
Plus heaps of bits and pieces.

Cheers jeremy

any ideas on postage?

jezz - September 5th, 2006 at 11:08 PM

Not off the top of my head.
But will see what i can come up with.:tu:

jezz - September 5th, 2006 at 11:11 PM

It fits surprisingly well. You don't need to chop out much.

76camper - September 5th, 2006 at 11:19 PM

youve got u2u ;-)

jezz - September 9th, 2006 at 08:30 AM

time is running out!!

bugeyedbabe - September 10th, 2006 at 02:08 PM

H.

this is the other one...

trying to convince big a to grab it...

took him to vw show today...he now sees difference in size between this and a townace...just giotta convince him...air con is over rated...pmsl!

newoldmanx - September 10th, 2006 at 02:32 PM

you can run air con with the kombi motor:duh

bugeyedbabe - September 10th, 2006 at 05:17 PM

how hard is that too install...means i have a better chance if i can get one done for him with air con...

jezz - September 10th, 2006 at 08:14 PM

The compressors mounted obviously, you would need to mount an evaporator box under the dash, run a/c pipes etc., and mount the condenser, perhaps with the radiator. Could be done but air-con is a luxury and comes at a cost.

bugeyedbabe - September 10th, 2006 at 09:19 PM

yep...i gather its gunna cost another $2 to $3k on top of cost of car

according to kombi club members

jo_tas - September 10th, 2006 at 09:47 PM

Hehe go for it Donna!!

Only thing is.. if this is gonna replace the townace.. you can't carry people in the back.. cause its gots no windows... its illegal from memory..

bugeyedbabe - September 10th, 2006 at 09:49 PM

wanna replace the townace for camping...next will be for ppl moving....lol

slowly but surely...it will be a total vw family!

slowly slowly whittle away his resolve...

You really think you're going to part him from his Corolla?
Good luck!
Well.. you might be able to.. if its for a Mk5 Golf or something.. lol

h - September 11th, 2006 at 08:34 AM

have a good look beb.. it probably needs work to get to rwc stage..
things like brakes, sus, etc
also does the thing run at all? or is the motor just sitting in there or it is piped up to go?
couldnt see a radiator up front hey..
good luck with it beb..
cheers paul

bugeyedbabe - September 11th, 2006 at 11:21 AM

thanks paul...

am guessing it needs alot of mechanical tto get to rwc.

He has a water cooled in it atmo, from what I can, which he is considering selling to another person. But selling the kombi with a 1600. I'd be inclined to go up to an 1800/2lt in any case. Which means I want everthing rechecked in any case, like brakes etc.

Would be expecting it to be a long term project...but i am more interested in its rust probs. I noticed that the van looks shiney...but i also noticed thats rain/water.

Jo, I would be asking him to give up his corolla. And yes, he has already said he's consider golf/polo for it on his next trade up...

And I have him going to a vw van if its about 4 years old....but what I want for me...is a kombi.

Not selling Edith or Blue Belle...but remember...I have one son ready to drive...and a young girl who wants to drive...and she wants a kombi...so I'm looking for a project that can be done up..run for a while before she gets it...then passed onto her....and so would prefer the body be done already...and happy with standard motor (dont want her losing her license before she's 19)?

Even considering rat for her....she can get out her paints and put purdy flowers on it if she wants...

cheers
donna

supercharged 66 - September 11th, 2006 at 06:46 PM

Sounds like alot of work that is needed to get it up to rwc....how long would it take to take the motor out and turn it back to a rolling 2lt boxed shell? What about rust? What wiring has been touched and if it is touched how much can be put back to standard?

Has the brakes, suspension been looked at at all? and when was it last registered?
Does the motor run?

fee...

beb..
up here old mate we definately neeeeed the cold wind machine in the summer that is for sure.. :thumb
so why not get a T3 or T4 bus (like mine) n then you can have ya bus and then ya got da a/c too boot!
n as josie said no windows no seats allowed..
it will prob work out more cost effective, both time n $$ gettin a bus thats in rwc and a goer..
do the math n then you can enjoy it not work on it every spare mo.. :o
just a thought..

jezz - September 13th, 2006 at 10:58 AM

It won't look as nice or have the same amount of character as the early bays though.

bugeyedbabe - September 13th, 2006 at 11:42 AM

okay...well...plans have changed again..as family dynamics have changed again too..

wayward child no2 is coming home to qld again...doh...i swear these kids drive me insane...pmsl.

so now...big a and i have to really sit down and work out what we're doing with car...as we have to full license and two with learners...so nwo i need to make sure i have a car for them to learn in...and one for me to drive...

think all of blue belles repairs just goit pushed into over drive....should make things fun...hmmmmm

but means i now have to pass on the kombi....:cry...well for now...

Thats a shame, no worries, thanx for the interest.
All the best with the kids and vehicle situation.
You could always put the kids up for adoption:D
