[FS - QLD] 1976 Kombi Panel van
frank87 - September 27th, 2006 at 03:17 PM

1976 Kombi Panel Van.

2 litre twin carb motor - motor runs very roughly may need a rebuild, or simply a tune,.. don't know.
I'll try and get the time this weekend and see if it will tune up.

Rust in step sections and lower front nose.

Needs new interior.

Rust free cargo floor.

Small dent below fuel filler cap.

Comes with straight rust free rear door, and engine lid. (not fitted.)
(The original rear door is dented badly on bottom edge probably from hitting ladders or the such on the roof racks.)

(Original engind lid has an ugly trailer plug drilled right besider the number plate.)

Front doors and windowless sliding door in excellant condition.

I've never driven this car,.. bought it to restore.
Just too busy with work, probably won't ever get around to it.

Will sell,. complete or parts.

Would be easy to restore,. would be a shame to see it parted out.

Make an offer.

I'm hoping for $1000+

email me for further photos.

vwfrank0506@yahoo.com.au

If someone will offer $1800,.. they can have this car,.. the 73 camper (also advertised in this section)
and anything else vw related that I have,..
Which includes an official workshop manual for baywindow,..
type 3 manual.
Two new tyres on kombi rims,..
Westfalia louvre window.
extra camper seat/bed,..(this is plus the one in the 73)camper.) 2 in total
1800 gearbox with a 1600 bell housing,.. this box is noisy but does not jump out of gear.
a couple of early 60's beetle bits including a 6-volt starter from a 1200 engine.

I'm not expecting someone to do this,. but if you were to add up the going rates for only the really good stuff,. it would come to more than 1800 easily.

Hows the steering box?

MickH - September 29th, 2006 at 02:02 PM

How much do you dream for the motor?? Bearing in mind the condition is unknown, but of a poor state.Did it start easily when you started it and when was it last started.Does it vomit oil from every oriface/smoke or just run rough. There are vans af similar stature on egay for around the $400-$1000 mark if that gives you a guide. What $$$ do you actually want for the car?? Any other help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.(I think $150 for the door was fair??)

Geeze mate I'm sorry,.. I thought you were talking 150 for the whole car,.. so sorry my mistake,.. very embarrassing.
I thought you were someone else.
sorry

150 sounds fine for the door,..
I'll keep in mind if I part it out.

I'm hoping to get a 1000 or more for the whole car.
I paid 1550 for it,.. but acknowledge that I probably paid alittle to much.

It's got a lot of good bits for the right person.

Probably I'll have to part it out because the 'right' person might be lots of different people.
It would be a shame though casue it could be a nice van.

It just seems to run rough.
I'll get my act together and see if the engine will tune up this weekend.
It doesn't smoke at all really,.. It does have a bad oil leak.
It's as nosiy as hell cause the muffler has a great big hole in it.
I last started it about a year ago.
I'll give it ago this weekend.

again so sorry about the misunderstanding.
cheers frank
