Suburb Nailsworth S.A
Vehicle 1969 double cab
Engine 1999 Legacy gtb Twin turbo (factory 208kw)
It is with the deepest regret that i am selling my six year project. 1969 double cab , Body is excellent condition, there is NO RUST on this vehicle. The gates (not shown are a bit beaten up but are very useable and almost no rust.
It has been modified but is all reversable if you want originality.
16" mags and big tyres
Front end has adjusters
dashboard almost fits perfectly in van.
was planning on putting in power steering but never got round to it .
has air cond facility
motor is in and running.
gearbox is a 2 litre with albins radial straight cut gears, superdiff and clutch is bonded 2 tonner.
still plenty of work to be done but this will make a beutiful beast when complete.I have all the parts to reassemble kombi, but some rubbers and parts will need to be purchased. Being a commercial vehicle,my engineer said it wont be a problem to register as there are less restrictions on these vehicles. This thing owes me a fair some of money so please make me a serious offer over 8k

Cheers

yep but finding someone with money to buy an unfinished project is alway gunna be hard as if they are looking at doing a project then they want itto be their own and not someone elses.

I hate to say it but I reckon you would make many more $$$$ by putting it back to VW power and selling it off that way.

I would have to ask how much work to "has been modified but is all reversable if you want originality"

As from what the pictures show there is quite a bit of cutting that has gone on.

vwrx - May 9th, 2008 at 03:27 PM

other than the obvious rear deck lift. the thing could go back to standard without to much hassle. I think my next option is to part it out which i dont really want to do

bad woody - May 9th, 2008 at 07:19 PM

Thats some double cab.
Im pretty new at this but could I ask some questions.

Albins gears, they are a manufacturer? Or an importer?
Is it all the gears that are Albins gear or just a few?

The radiator, does it have one and where is it.

Thanks Bill.

vwrx - May 10th, 2008 at 06:43 PM

gearbox is all albins aftermarket gears they are super strong. Have a close look at pics, the radiator with twin factory thermo fans is mounted above the gearbox.'
Cheers Kurt

pm me what $ you are chasing for the box and motor.

nick

vwrx - May 20th, 2008 at 05:35 PM

if you would like the box and motor, you will have to buy the lot for asking price and part it out yourself.
Cheers
