[WTB - QLD] Pre 65 Beetle
MISS VDUB - January 20th, 2007 at 09:54 PM

Hi Guys,

I'm moving to South East Brisbane in a few weeks and i'm looking for a daily driver as my other car once finished will be a bit too special to drive everywhere, and i would really like a daily driver.

I'm after something pre 65 as i already have a late beetle. Would prefer something road worthy or close to for around $1000.

Please u2u me if you can help. :bounce

Thank-you!

Ash x

I realise they were the same shape until then, but i'm after a popes nose decklid preferred.

Worse comes to worse i can buy the decklid and change it if need be?

bushed - January 27th, 2007 at 10:32 AM

yepp
they called W decklid and they had different popes nose

get the lid etc later off someone needin to sell !! Beware pre 55 had a larger spring
as rare as and spring or weldjob to take olg spring needs to be factored into price...these lids are heavy

mind you it will cost u $200 plus for the lid even a roughy, sorry
xtra for nose

Just drive the space ship around Ash

what does it look like any way ?

MISS VDUB - January 28th, 2007 at 02:43 PM

Ha ha Neil, now you've seen what Mildred looks like, you can see why i would prefer to get an early (pre 65) for a daily driver!

MISS VDUB - January 28th, 2007 at 08:42 PM

I said around $1000, and i'm not scared of a little work! I'm more than happy to get the welder out if need be. Thanks for the bump!

gull - January 30th, 2007 at 12:15 PM

no I would just drive it , your related cost is no were near a new car .

MISS VDUB - January 30th, 2007 at 02:49 PM

Thanks for the advice Neil, but i want a daily driver i can leave in the carpark without worrying about damage.

Too many people around here adding unrelated or uneeded comments in members for sale and wanted threads...

Please comment if you can genuinely help me, i appreciate any leads...

Miss vee dub, it is funny how comments can come around! by the way there is a bug in bracken ridge off of beams road...66 1300 12v sitting in his front yard in a dead end street...needs work, but I think if you spent a little more than your budget a better car will come up!

MISS VDUB - February 3rd, 2007 at 12:25 PM

Zsolt, i have already been informed about this one, and like it states from the title of my thread, i dont want anything later than a 65 thankyou...

Bob and i are looking at a 62 right now that is right in our price range. Great car with a rebuilt 1500, so will let you know how we go...

VW_Gurl - February 4th, 2007 at 03:19 PM

hay hay Ash. Do have any pics of it??

MISS VDUB - February 4th, 2007 at 06:37 PM

Only on the mobile... the lady who owns it lives across the road from my boyfriends mate. It is not openly for sale, and she doesnt want to sell it until im there to look at it.

But we will let you know what happens...

MISS VDUB - February 17th, 2007 at 10:50 AM

Hey Guys!

Thanks to everyone that helped me in my search for an Early beetle, i am now the proud owner of a beautiful 60's Bug! It has absolutely no rust, new paint job and new interior, it was a virtually finished project. I also managed to get another beetle for donor parts all up for $1150! Definitely pays to keep searching! I could not be happier, i've really done well!
