Where's the minor rust? And would you swap for parts, or part swap for parts at all?

Cheers

i cant believe this hasnt moved yet... i'll be damned this is a wicked ride for the cost.
bump for the panels, keep searching timmy

Schmoburger - January 25th, 2007 at 11:38 PM

Oh believe me if I had a lazy grand and a half Tim wouldve shifted this thing's azz off his lawn a loooooooooooong time ago! :tu:

Free bumpo... :bounce

frenzix - January 26th, 2007 at 06:20 AM

the biggest selling point is the motor.. it runs like clockwork.. i would reregister if no one buys it

floss - January 26th, 2007 at 11:21 AM

if you didn't live so far away and I had a lil more cash i am sure that would have a new home. What is the oily looking residue splashed all over her? Free bumpo

frenzix - January 26th, 2007 at 12:58 PM

penetrol.. i have sprayed/brushed it over every crevis and crease and hole. .. plus inside doors etc.. it helps to prevent and stop rust.. great stuff

Schmoburger - January 26th, 2007 at 02:55 PM

And looks ver so cool and ratty too! :tu:

If I had the dosh I seriously would have bought it already... will be in the market for a 2nd Kombi soon and would prefer th the next one to be a 1600 just for something a bit different! ;)

If I'm really lucky it will remain unsold long enuff for me to scrounge together some bucks!... OK wishful thinking I know... somebody is certain to buy it within a day now. DAMN AND BLASTATION! :vader

ANyway onto the subject of pie... look how squeaky clean and straight that WINDOWLESS door is.. what's not to like!?!?! :bounce

frenzix - February 10th, 2007 at 08:51 PM

bays suck

Type3Sicko - February 12th, 2007 at 02:01 PM

He Heee, that'll learn em! seriously though, it seems you can't give away bays at any price Tim. soldier on.... with pseudoephedrine :) my teeth hurt

aggri1 - February 12th, 2007 at 04:20 PM

Bay bashers suck! I have a '74 and she rocks! Cost me a lot more than $1000 too! But I am intrigued that this unmolested '74 has a Type1 in it. I've seen one like this before, and it also had no interior engine access hatch. 234xxxx chassis number and everything. And I thought it was a freak 'cause they stopped putting Type1's in Bays in Australia in 73. Hmmm, learn something new every day.

Good luck w/ the sale, but I don't want it. Tell 'im we've already got one!

Cheers, A.

frenzix - February 12th, 2007 at 05:28 PM

everything sucks.. Yeah it came with a 1600.. it died and we me/steve muller put a 1600 type 3 (converted it to type 1) motor in.. It was rebuilt at that time.. Runs like a dream... dont really care if i don't sell it.. good spare motor.. or spare bus :)

Schmoburger - February 15th, 2007 at 05:14 PM

1600's were still an optiol up until 1977, they just stopped putting them in as standard in 1973. They seem to have been quite common in panelvans.

post-'72 vans without a hatch invariably came with a 1600 from the factory.

As an aside... did this sell yet?.. if not then another :bounce is in order.

frenzix - February 15th, 2007 at 05:16 PM

no sell yet.. no ones actually had a look at it either.

VWCOOL - February 15th, 2007 at 07:34 PM
