[FS - NSW] SOLD! 69 Microbus.
Hutcho - February 12th, 2007 at 07:52 PM

Hi Guys,
As much as it pains me to do this, it is time to let our bus go to someone who will enjoy her as much as we have over the last 8 years. Previous to that, she was owned for years by another couple who were major VW lovers.
There isn’t another one like her around and although she has some slight rust in the lower front panel, she is in overall great condition and would suit anyone looking for a beautiful early Kombi that they could enjoy for many years. The 1500 single port motor with a webber for induction was rebuilt by VVWS about 3 years ago and has traveled less than 1200kms since. She runs extremely strong and surprises all who ride in her. An excellent steering box was recently installed and she now has the privilege of having none of the dangerous steering slop which is so often found in earlier Kombi’s. She has red interior throughout with minor sun damage on a couple of the back seats.
She represented the 69 model Kombi at “The 50th Birthday of the Volkswagen Kombi” at Penrith in March 2000 and will come with the certificate she received on the day.
To be honest, I’ve always wanted to put a set of Fuchs under her and lower her 5” but my girlfriend at the time kyboshed it and at present, I don’t have time to scratch myself.
Overall, she is in excellent condition and will easily pass rego. If you’d like me to do it, I will for the right price. I’m after offers over $4000.
If your interested, please contact Steve on 0402 179 287. I don’t get on here much these days but will try to answer any questions you have ASAP.
She’s located at Jannali in Sutherland Shire, 30 mins south of Sydney.

Here are some interior shots and one of the engine. Looking at her again today, there are also a couple of rust spots under the front windscreen but nothing bad. In saying that, she is a really honest one of a kind Kombi that your kids and/or friends will love. I cant put into words how many fun memories ive had going away with half a dozen friend in her..:-( Who ever "steals" her will need to be a fairly talkative person too as Im ALWAYS talking to stangers who have admired her from afar.

Hi James,
You can come and look at the Bus on Sunday arvo if you like. Call me to let me know when...
No rust in floors and theyre original.
No, she doesnt come with the other wheels but I could be persuaded to sell the Porsche Twists... Just thought id show people what she could look like.

Cheers,
Steve

Calcool - February 25th, 2007 at 02:15 AM

Yes it is 3am on Sunday morning and I cannot sleep as I am looking forward to going and picking up the Bus.

It was great to catch up with an old mate in Hutcho, I have admired this bus for some time as it is the closest I have been able to come to the 72 Micro I have been longing for to fill my memories of my childhood cruising all around Australia with mum, dad and my 2 sisters early in the 70's and early 80's

It is going to a good home with my 58 Rat and my 54 Oval.

I guess now I need a set of dropped spindles, or adjustable beam, set of BRM's, Chrome 68 to 72 body trim, 68 to 72 Bumper Trim and Rubbers, Mesh Sunvisor and Venetians.

If anyone can assist with these items I am in the market.

Cheers,

Calcool
