sinecure - June 13th, 2007 at 04:35 PM

On ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1970-VW-convertible-Porsche-body_W0QQitemZ220118428106...

There was a Porrera (the hardtop) for sale as a project in Bris, think it was on carpoint or carsales but I can't find it.

Good luck!

Hey,

Thanks for the replys. The black one has sold on ebay (and was in WA..) The white one has a stuffed soft top, and isn't with $5k IMO. Maybe they will relist at a lower price (maybe sell the mags separately) and I'd think about it. No Bids on it.

I saw the porrera, a workmate of mine rang the guy up and it was already sold. Not really what I'm looking for anyway though.

Cheers

Dude. Harsh.

It's obviously about love, give the man a break. I'm sure some of your friends gave you the same spiel when you decided to get your first VW.

Share the love

vw54 - June 14th, 2007 at 06:55 AM

Sorry i carnt my any love in me when it comes to Poragas just trying to enlighten someone new to the marque

And all my friends encouraged me to buy a VW back in 1968

sinecure - June 14th, 2007 at 12:35 PM

Fair enough, you're a lucky man to have such supportive friends.

BTW, the moulds for the Porerra/Poraga are still around, they were up for sale a couple of months ago on ebay, along with a complete body of each version.

...no one bought them. :blush

fenrayer - June 14th, 2007 at 12:45 PM

VW54 thats harsh man ...... MY PORAGA DID NOT LEAK and it had no flex as it had thick chassis rails

and eveyone i ever saw personally loved my poraga

I only sold mine cause I had to spend thousands on my explorer ...
my poraga got bought by a car yard in geraldton shame really $2550 plus shipping would of been cheaper then the white one on ebay which also has no front lense on drivers side indicator which I had plenty of spares for ( but i gave them away with the car)

still a poraga lover

BTW i paid $1200 for mine under a year ago

wazzo - June 14th, 2007 at 01:25 PM

Hey,

Thanks for the reply fenrayer, I was thinking about bidding on yours, but I thought the shipping would be a hassle..

That white one has the missing lense, dunno why they had a picture without it. Be interesting to see if they relist at a cheaper price.

vwsteve - June 14th, 2007 at 01:44 PM

i have a porrera project car you can have cheaply

BASHOdi - June 14th, 2007 at 04:58 PM

So did I! If you're keen, wazzo, She Who Must Be Obeyed is happy for me to back off.

I would be stoked to help you build up this kit, with my albeit limited VW knowledge.

wazzo - June 16th, 2007 at 01:20 AM

It's a "maybe", depending on price and what year it's for. I'm assuming one wouldn't cut a hole for the external fuel flap for later beetles, there would be a different poraga kit to suit. It's rather get one suited to a later model beetle.

fenrayer - June 16th, 2007 at 01:20 AM

my other half was hell keen on rexys porrera but it was gonna cost way too much to ship it over
supriseed he still got it !!! whats wrong with people these days just no taste lol :) or sense of adventure :bounce

TISM rock, but it's Janes Addiction FTW!!

crewcabconnection - June 16th, 2007 at 11:29 PM

How do you double the value of your poraga? Put fuel in it.

Stop it. Might as well fit a cardboard box to some braces, attach a paper plate on each corner and run around the local Westfields shouting DAK DAK DAK - people would laugh less atchya.

(the above is entirely bollocks and just having a joke as is any VW enthusiasts right when the word Poraga is mentioned)

wazzo - June 17th, 2007 at 12:32 AM

Hmmm, I might make my own poraga style kit out of papier mache

I'd call it the "CCC"

wazzo - June 17th, 2007 at 12:40 AM

I'll beat vw54 to it and say "It would leak less"

wazzo - June 17th, 2007 at 10:14 AM

looks like the poraga and porrera molds are up on ebay :
