1972 karmann ghia for sale(SOLD)
vwsteve - September 17th, 2007 at 08:59 AM

I am regretfully putting my 72 karmann ghia up for sale, this is the most reliable vw i have ever had, its been driven daily for long distances for the last 5 years and the engine has never had a problem(unleaded). The car is an ex california import and still LHD, it is fully engineer approved and has the blue plate. Its got a pearl white paint job, gc for age, few scratches from the shipping container i never fixed,It has chromies all round, 5.5 front and 7 rear.Good interior, had front seats redone years ago but drivers is torn again, good mechanicals throughout, ive redone quite a few things over the years. The only problem the car has is there is rust coming out in the sills, top of doors and bottom of decklid, its always had this since ive owned it but obviously its getting a little bigger over the years, i think the heater didnt help it.The floor pan is still original and in very good condition. This car will go non stop all day and drive as far as you like(seriously)i will be selling it less roadworthy, drive as is for ages or fix the rust now, serious enquiries only please, asking $8500.00 ono, phone steve 0409475131.I cant work out how to put pics on here so anyone who wants them give your emails please, cheers.

You forget you are on the wrong side untill someone says something to you at the lights, or when you forget at a servo and jump in the wrong side:p

just a word i seen a chev left looker with a rear view camera fitted in the right hand mirror and a small tv in the dash it was so he could see when he wanted to overtake a really neat idea and it was well done

stubug - October 3rd, 2007 at 06:07 PM

That’s a good idea.

You could triple the amount of electrics in the car with one mod!

vwsteve - October 4th, 2007 at 08:36 AM

I must admit it can be a bitch to overtake sometimes when you are sitting on the wrong side, all you can do is lean over and look, at least its a small car though, a chev would be harder.

Can you recommend an engineer in the caboolture area for the blue plate ? Is it just seat belts and head lights?

..Thanks.

vwsteve - November 5th, 2007 at 07:44 AM

It already has the blue plate, its all legal and currently registered, no worries in that department.

vwsteve - November 5th, 2007 at 07:46 AM

From memory its, h/lights,seatbelts,w/screen,parkers, etc

Southern Van - November 5th, 2007 at 12:55 PM

Why I asked is that I have a left hand drive splitty and wanted to know if you could recommend someone local for the blue plate ? Ive seen your Ghia on the Hwy before...looks good.

vwsteve - November 5th, 2007 at 03:45 PM

i used the engineer that custom off road used he knows whats what and was realistic, i got quotes from a few other baboons at the time and they were just rediculous, i dont have his number anymore but he lives out near samford from memory, ring custom and they should know him, hes a good bloke too, cheers

Southern Van - November 5th, 2007 at 03:50 PM
