Geez like beeing in a snow blizzard, full time wearing sunnies even with the top closed. But it is neat though.

Why would a car from California be guarenteed rust free, they have a coast line dont they?

shame about the dash and non original rims
owner obviously doesnt drive it much
god thos big york compressors are like boat anchors...
back in the 70s it was one size fits all
thats the same size compressor thats was used in big fairlanes and statemans of the same era

Looks like a car I sold on behalf of an old friend about 7 or 8 years ago.

Then it was a complete factory triple white 78 Cabrio and everything worked and was there. It had signs of age and needed everything done for a prisitne resto or just drive it as was. It had a tear in the roof and the interior was well used. I cannot remember if it was converted and used rack and pinion or for some reason I remember it being L bug std, it should be rack and pinion to be factory correct in LHD form.

A great car. If it is the one I sold it to a successful businessman who was from around macquarie uni, not sure if he lived or just worked there. He was not in the VW scene, but just liked the car and intended to spend some money on it over time and then sell it on and hopefully get his money back.

Not cheap but probably well worth it if the restoration has been done well.

Cheers,

David
