Well I never thought I'd do it but with family and lifestyle changes at the "blup58" household it is with some reluctance that I am putting up the
Karmann Ghia for sale. Those of you who know me and/or the car will have seen the enjoyment my family have had in this girl - we have had trips to
many VW events including Nambucca and Warwick plus many joy rides around South East Queensland.
I bought this car a few years ago in excellent stock condition (well pretty much stock) - didn't even have seatbelts at the time. Over the past few
years we embarked on a transformation to my liking - my intention with the car was to create a look that was somewhere between a showcar/weekend
warrior/period racer with original and period styles.
So to give you an idea of some specs, mods and features please refer below:

Whilst I'm not one to be influenced by awards, nor has it ever been my concern to get any - the car has been luck enough to pick up a few - Dubs by
the Pub, Runner up Air Cooled Class Warwick, Top 10 at Valla and there is another I need to check on.
Performance wise the KG has achieved a best of mid 15s in the quarter mile and high 9s (from memory) in the eighth mile with quite a bit of wheel spin
- but no doubt if someone out there is prepared to drive a bit harder you may tweak these times.
Not to name drop but my brother-in-law Alan (Dasdubber) has helped me out along the way, provding lots of hands on works and advice whilst the KG has
been in my possession and undergone the transformation, gives you an indication of attention to detail. All mods listed above have been certified and
blue plated by an automotive engineer in Brisbane including the seat change, roll cage, disc brakes, engine change etc. So how much????
I am asking $27,500 and whilst my preference is for outright sale I am negotiable on final outcome i.e partial trade + offsetting payment
Purchase price + mods prices the car well over this asking price - serious interest only please.
Thanks
Brad

Sorry to see you have to give this fine KG up Brad....but I think those of us with families have been there and understand.
Good luck with the sale
Brad is just using family as an excuse - he has already put a down payment on a new Hyundai Getz with fully sik 17in wheels, and wickedddd stezza
maaate.
Seriously though, this car will make someone very happy as I always get out with a smile on my face after having a drive (and no, Brad's hands stay
on his side of the car thank you).
I'm sure you have more pics brad, but here are a few I found:
Thanks Al - you know my hands have a mind of there own.
Just a quick one for people to note - the photo above shows the old muffler, have had a much nicer one built since.
Andrew/Nick - thanks for the well wishes, it was a tough call but have made the decision, in reality I think its a reasonable price for are really
nice car, no doubt if/when it sells the buyer will enjoy.
This is one of my fav. KG's! All the best with the sale and its well worth the $!-Wayne
The only negative comment is I cant afford it
That is a beautiful KG Brad.
I would guess it would cost twice that much to build one with the same specs.
Don't let it go for a cent less!
Thanks guys - sorry had to edit the post was getting a bit carried away, front and rear tyres are only 205 not the manly 225 that I thought...........hope I'm not sub-consciously trying to compensate for something....
16x6 and 16x7?
nick
Pretty sure your right on sizes Nick...
Here is one I forgot to put up...

Yep Nick's spot on with the Fuch measurements - polished they look absolutely sweet!
I reckon your family should update to a ragtop beetle
Craig - haven't ruled it out yet, preference is for the sale, but you never know might come knocking yet.....
After all already does have two attachment points for kiddies seats!!
Still for sale - refer first post
Will consider reasonable offers.

For anyone considering kGhia I must say haveing spent a few hours under this one that it is a very nice example and no corners where cut. The car was
modified around the wheels and they clear well and look awesome. There have been a lot of hours put into making this a very sweet ride.
Well worth an inspection as you will not find any issues .. well priced to boot..
im actually suprised demon hasn't picked this up yet *hint*
nick
MMmmmm!I am tempted, cos damn I miss the rag.
Haha....yeah you shouldn't have sold that one Damon!....especially not to a bloke like Craig hehehe
I know,I'd dearly love to buy it back but I think Craig's ignoring my PM's !!
G'day Guys/Gals
The better half has said I need to get serious about the sale of the KG.
Price drop to $27,500 - (includes recent respray, detailing of the Fuchs and new chrome trims).
Will need to list on carsales, and no doube eventuall Ebay, if the right buyer doesn't come out.
I'll try and include photo of how the Fuchs now look.
Cheers
Brad

This ghia is beautiful someone needs to buy it, please.
Yeah, if I had the money I'd be SERIOUSLY tempted....
... actually, no I wouldn't... it'd be parked in the driveway already !!!
Gorgeous car, and would be stoked if my KG turns out anywhere near as well. Kinda like look of the front end too Al, giving me more evil
thoughts....
