im interested in purchasing a 97-98 golf, preferably a 98 for changed body shape. i did drive a 88 accord as a runabout but since i hit a kangaroo and a wombat in the same night! it just doesn't feel the same...

what should i look out for in a golf in regards to wear and tear? expenses, parts etc? thanks.
