Jim
Tatura, Victoria 3616
VW Notchback 1968
See pics for condition.
Item Cost - $11 000 ono

Hey guys,
It's time to finally move her on sadly. The legend is now to become someone elses who will care for her like I did, and the previous owners have.
I'd like to keep her in the country. I know I could sell it tomorrow on the Samba.com , but I am trying to keep it in the country. Don't mind interstate, but not international at this stage. Other than word of mouth, this is the first time it has been advertised.

It is an all original 1968 Notch, with original paint, scratches and dents!
The motor was rebuilt approx 4 years ago, and I have the reciepts(somewhere) for roughly $3K worth. 1600TP fully rebuilt original motor and the two carbies fully rebuilt as well. All modifications made to the car can be reversed(apart from the two holes made for the dummy spot headlights) and made completely original, ride height included. The suspension work was professionally done before I owned it, and is believed to have cost over $2000, from Vollkommen Art in Melbourne. The car would come with a majority of the accessories on it, with only a handful removed(none that would leave marks or remove paint or the like). The taillights alone are worth $400!
The car is completely unmolestered, which included the stereo/ MP3 player. The head unit is in the glovebox(Pioneer) with a remote control, and the speakers are in a picnic basket in the back seat of the car, so I didn't have to drill holes in anything. Pictures can be taken if needed.

As some of you know, keep in mind that I have cared for this car very much over the last 6 or 7 years that I have owned it, and in that time, would average my driving of the vehicle to be 2 or 3 times a month at most. It still comes with the original books from the showroom, with the rego plates written in the book, that still remain on the car. It is usually driven and serviced and been prepared for shows, twice a year. At this years VW Jamboree on the 30th of March, three months ago, it was voted by the people as the Best Modified Type 3 for the day, receiving a trophy.

Let me know if you have any questions. The car is located near Shepparton in Victoria. I'm not sure whether it will be at Valla or not yet, still trying to work that out. I'm not sure if that helps you any, but at least you know. Any questions or further pics you require, let me know.

'The car is completely unmolestered"

excuse my ignorance, but what does unmolested mean? This car has been slammed and added with accessories which is hardly unmolested.

This is an example of unmolested http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=69313

type3kid - June 19th, 2008 at 10:33 AM

WEhat he means is that nothing on the car requied extra holes drilled, sections cut or can't be removed to be completely factory original. lowering was done professionally and can easily be raised, the stereo is in the glovebox where it's not visible, the speakers are in a picnic baasket so no speaker holes were cut.

i see where you are coming from mate but he's right in my opinion.

molested is when a car is cut left right and center for mods.

plus, Nellie is stilloriginal paint and interior, it's been 100% looked after since factory.

my 2 cents

stcj - November 8th, 2008 at 02:57 PM

What kind of wheels are those? are they some kind of wire beauty rims? I saw something similar a while back on a KG.

BenettonVW - November 8th, 2008 at 03:20 PM

Cross trims, they are generally called. Just a VW accessory like other trim rings.

Stay tuned for new pics for this. It is still for sale and going on eBay shortly. If interested please reply or email. My apologies to those I haven't responded to, but if still interested please email again.

This car will probably be at DOVW Victoria, next weekend for anyone interested in a closer look!
