didn't the splits have one piece windows from the factory?
From memory, the leading edge of the glass was recessed back approx 10-12mm......
Cheers

Yeah. Up until 52 from memory. 53 went to the quarters. (I think)

well said Jace!!...............is that praising
??
............as for the car, c'mon, it's a split window, the modified bits wouldn't bother me if i was in the market.
one with irs /bj and four discs would get more $$ from me, it would save me doing all the hard work
.....
good luck with the sale

1950 for Beetles from Ireland and 31 August 1951 for Beetles assembled in South Africa. Both countries used CKD kits and both are RHD markets.

how about a group hug?
This is pretty much how i bought the car and still believe it has been tastefully modified and suited my needs and has served me very well. It hasn't
been butchered so u can return it to its original state, comes with most/all original parts available and go with the car.. Incl. Motor, box, wheels,
interior, steering, running boards, moulds, etc. So the bits on it can be used to modify another beetle (and i know we all have other beetles) if u
choose to make it 'original' again. One piece windows are original and are smooth as. This car will drive anywhere and will turn heads everywhere.
The vw specialist i bought it from didnt even add seatbelts so he wouldnt make holes in it. It is 100% rust free and having owned over 40 vw's, from
ovals to L-bugs i can honestly say this is the best handling, best braking, fastest and most comfortable vw i have owned and will be very sad to see
it go, but it seems as though it wont be going anywhere because according to some people on this forum the car is not worth the money im asking. Its
only a '51 beetle, they're a dime a dozen! Maybe i should cut the roof off, whack on a nice flare kit and paint it pink to please the real
volkswagen enthusists out there?? It really is my ultimate dream car but my financial situation is forcing to do this so if u r genuine and
interested, drop me a line, u r more than welcome to inspect, testdrive, etc. I have had interest from overseas buyers however I would love it to stay
in australia. Cheers. Ali.
Dak-A-Tak - June 30th, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Think of it this way ! if you bought 30grand of original parts (dash parts ,glass, bumpers ,body bits -doors -guards ,ect )
I think this car would be a fair buy for any one ( to restore or to cal-look ) . Best of luck with sale . All so price can allways come down then up !

You will find 53's are Zwitters (the Split/Oval cross over), so yes, they have quarters.
Craig Torrens - June 30th, 2008 at 08:32 PM
