[WTB - SA] Beetle Wanted or something to do a RAT LOOK with???
Oval_Mad - August 8th, 2008 at 01:20 PM

Hi Everyone.

I have been without a beetle for over 10 years, i have had a few Ovals, Split Kombis and beetles in my time, and recently got the "BUG" again and I am keen to get back into the VW scene, but I cannot find a decent beetle at for a good price.

I am looking for something cheap that may need a bit of work to get on the road, but not a rust bucket and not too badly modified (I am a bit of a purist! and love the old girls!!).

Does anyone know of anything "sitting" around that is cheap and unwanted looking for a good home? Preferrably in Adelaide or nearby country areas.

I promise I am not looking to make a buck out of anyone, just want to re-introduce my knuckles to some good old VW grease again!!!

thanks
Steve

Howdy wynnumVWdriver,

I saw your post last night, must have been just after you listed.

Your 58 looks like a great start, if you were just a bit closer, I would be around for a look.

Thanks for getting in touch though.

Steve

Looking around at what people are doing with VW's lately and I have seen a lot of cool rats that have been put together.

If anyone has something that would be suitable for a rat, (beetle, squareback, notchy) then I would love to hear about it.

Thanks to everyone so far that has got in touch.

Steve

I am hoping to pick up something reasonably cheaply, and then spend bits and pieces as I go.

Would be great to pick up something really cheap from 50's60's vintage that is sitting around getting in the way.

What did you have in mind?

Steve

Check out my post on the Rat 68.
All the hard work has been done and there is no way you could build it for that.
