can you post pics up of them....

vwsteve - September 14th, 2008 at 07:25 PM

the type 3 ghia is complete except for a spiral guage in the dash, clock still there, it has minimal rust in floors, doors need new bottoms and sills can be patched, has 3/4 original paint on it, 2 motors pulled apart, single port twin carbs, original radio still fitted, seats were missing when i got it, found a perfect back seat and there are 3 front seats with it(a bit ratty), original hoodlinning still in it, door trims usable still, heaps of h/l rings, dont know which 1 is right for it, original keys still for it, last regoed 1980 in NSW, some idiot cut the 4 wheel arches for bigger wheels, will supply 4 arch cuts off a type 3 notch,if it scared people too much i may be able to weld them in but the price will rise 2000 for the effort as i dont have the time really, there is some paint sprayed over it here and there, most is coming off with a razor blade to original, cheers

vwsteve - September 15th, 2008 at 09:45 AM

pics added, will have to push car out for better pics, the lower dash mould is in the back, all the interior is there, someone sprayed fish oil over it which is what the stains are on certain areas, its had a small hit in the passenger front, can be repaired quite easily, nose is really good, cheers

Repro rear arches are available via karmannghia.de - karmannghia.de

I have a pair of these and they're pretty good.

Bumpers look good - If you decide to break this car - first dibs on them please

vwsteve - August 28th, 2009 at 06:27 AM

Very interesting website, didnt know they made them, i may weld the arches up if i find some time soon.No plans to wreck the car yet, i think it would be a waste, cheers

I agree - it deserves to be restored (even if I do want the bumpers - lol).

If you ever need any info on Type 34's give me a shout - I run the Type 34 registry website and can probably point you in the right direction.

I'm replacing the rear arches on mine as the inner lip is a little bent up - not sure when I will do this, but you are welcome to my old arches after I cut them out.

vwsteve - August 28th, 2009 at 10:53 AM

vwsteve - August 29th, 2009 at 06:19 PM

vwsteve - August 31st, 2009 at 07:14 AM

The car is full of parts so i asumed the floors needed replacing, i decided to have a look underneath on the weekend and to my surprise the floor are quite good, it will need a couple small patches welded in where you can see the start of a couple holes but they dont need replacing, doh, i should have looked under it before!
