go and see the guys next to teds tyres in winnellie behind top lock is a guy who has a heap vw's in there he might be able to point you in the right direction on who's got one for sale

vwkg - November 3rd, 2008 at 11:29 AM

Great to see another budding Darwin dubber.
There was a "project" in the paper a saturday or two ago, early 60s $1500.

There are quite a few beetles around, you'll spot one evenually.

What is your price range?
As for MBN...(next to Teds tyres) ... no comment...

Pauld - November 3rd, 2008 at 01:08 PM

a few dodgy experiances there reub?

reub - November 3rd, 2008 at 05:13 PM

Won't say on a public forum mate...:)
Maybe when we eventually hook up for a cruise I'll have a yarn...

Pauld - November 3rd, 2008 at 05:18 PM

yeah i know what you mean, too easy, now back on topic, watch out for the "project" beetles in darwin, a lot of them are ones which have sat through a few too many wet seasons and the further you dig the worse they get. just something too keep an eye out for when your looking around the traps

meanmecordia - November 3rd, 2008 at 05:50 PM

That was my dub you saw at the track on sunday. You should have wandered down and said hello.

Glad you liked it:)

Pauld - November 5th, 2008 at 09:47 AM

road trip, id be up for that i reckon

VWFREAK - November 5th, 2008 at 07:49 PM

VWKG has got Bug Boys (Nathan) old oval, sweet ride. It's worth looking into getting one down south. I'm sure people on the forum are more than happy to help with inspections etc as required.

Or, just hit Reub up for his spare oval under the house or twist his arm real hard to part with sweet 58

Good luck with the hunt.

Having done the drive a few times, you'd wanna be prepared and some to take a beetle Darwin.

Great trip, but hard work in a dak dak
