Hi,
Sounds like a good car on paper, but maybe put up some pics so people can see for themselves. Photobucket or a similar site is a good way, and it will automatically resize the pics for you. :)
Cheers.

g,day mate, i'm new to these pages, but i've owned a few vw's since the mid seventies. simply, bar the splits, it is a buyers market at the moment. i am actually looking at a car like this , but i live about 3 hours south, the cost in time and money to get any unregistered car down here and then jump through the rego hoops, well... i love the supers but really the 60,s bugs are a lot more popular and there a few few of those for sale registered and at similar prices right now. anyway good luck with it, pete

The rego bit kills a lot of interest. Who wants to pay extra to have a car transported if it will easily pass for rego. A car with 12 months NSW rego is a much better car than one that will easily pass rego.

Close on $6k for an unregistered Super is just way to much. Try $3k to $4k max and you might get a buyer.

Have a look around at car sales, ebay etc and see what is ACTUALLY selling.

Also if you are serious about it then I would put pictures up in this thread. AVD Adds have a 95% sucess rate with pictures and about a 40% without.

If a seller is serious then they will bother to put them up, no pics sometimes looks like you are trying to get people to come look and a lot will not bother, but if they see a nic bug they will fall in love.

Every premium add on teh market attached pics.

to do the pic bit go to photobucket and get a free membership than upload your pics at a good size than you can do all kinds of shit with them that is how most pics are used here
good luck

ive bought quite a few of these over the years and the most Ive paid for an unregistered sbug is $800 and that was last year when the economy was booming
do your self a favour and put 6 months rego on it and you may be in with a chance of getting a good price
or Ill take sympathy and buy another for $800

philsmanx - December 18th, 2008 at 09:22 PM

got mine for 500 and it was a 1500000 ed........wrecked it

zjm - December 19th, 2008 at 10:05 PM

mine was a 15 million as well and I wrecked it too

barls - December 19th, 2008 at 10:20 PM

i paid 2000 for a regoed sbug with 4 months rego.

type82e - December 20th, 2008 at 06:43 AM

i bought a tatty 71 sbug a few months ago for $300 and not that long ago there was a nice regoed sbug in the paper for $2000 and it took ages to sell

the saddest thing is that a good superbug is very much the nicest aircooled vw to drive by a long way especially the 75 model with rack and pinion steering

helbus - December 23rd, 2008 at 03:57 PM

Current registration and slip, pictures as well and you have a much better chance of getting good market price.

No reg, slip or pics and it limits the market to only those bothered to drive a few minutes to look at it, and even then I would estimate $3000 max
