Nice car, would this car be good for a daily driver and does it have a stereo at all? Any other details that you would like to mention?

hi Mick,
BAD currently has a stereo but we werent planning on selling it which is why we didnt list it. I've got it mounted inside the glove box so that it cant be seen and also hasnt cluttered the dash. Same with the aerial, it is inside so that it doesnt disrupt the lines of the car. The idea was to have a sleek hot-rod look. As a daily driver, it is perfect - that is what my wife has been using it for since she bought it over ten years ago. I think this is Mike Kirsten's (Of CBB fame) old car?

I remember it from the VW Nationals at Parklea and a magazine (or two).

It's nice to see that it is still in good condition. It's full of fresh ideas like the upholstered dash. It's a piece of Australian Veedubb history. I hope whoever ends up with it doesn't change it.

It had an SU carb fed turbo from memory.

I will try to dig up the story, from memory it had a draw through ford throttle body setup with a t4 and was pretty tuff. I remember the number plates. Think it was the cover car.

Hi Guys,
I will get some pictures of the engine bay tomorrow, flat out ran out of time today.
Mel bought BAD 12 or 13 years ago, with a 1916cc twin kadron engine, and late model "L"bug gearbox.
BAD is Mels first love and i have now been relegated to third in line since our daughter has arrived (which is why we are selling - can't fit car seat and pram).

I spotted this on ebay 2 days ago.

My misses told me yesterday she wants to sell her Ford van and get a beetle, I dont think she'll be able to get rid of the ford in time to make a bid on BAD and I'm spending all my money on a Type 4 engine, which is a pity I'ld like it parked at our place. She would just want to paint it purple anyway.

I have put the pictures on the ebay page now, i tried to put them on here but i think they are too big.
Its a 1916cc with a mild cam, standard valves, and twin kadrons, Drives well with plenty of torque and hp, but smooth like a standard motor.
