After much deliberation, I have decided to sell my two kombi’s and focus on my beetles for the time being. So here they are for sale as a package
lot. II really have lost all my drive for finishing this old girl, so here she is.
1970 Camper:
The Good:
Its a 10/1970 model, meaning that it was originally a wide5 stud pattern but the previous owner changed it over. I still have the old beam, and wheels
and hubs. These will NOT fit a split, the very late 69 and 70 model beam will not fit a split.
Full set of Deluxe waistline chrome to go with it!
Origianally Antartic White, not that makes any difference now lol
Pop-Top needs a real good clean outside, canvas is in good conditon, the side tabs where the fly nets go up need to be reglued and it too could
probaly do with a clean.
All electrics work except fot the alternator light, maybe a couple of small dash globes.
The front floor has had the little holes cut out and patches made and put into Miged into place. I also ordered and fitted a brand new battery tray
from Classic VeeDub so dont worry about your battery faling out!
The windcreen area is very very good, no rust bubbles and some previous owner has fitted a new windscreen rubber. Doglegs are really good, no rust!
The engine, i was told was a reconditioned 1600TP, this i beleive as it is the sweetest sounding motor we have, she has extractors and is running an
alternator instead of a generator which is really handy. Has a blocked jet which ill clean out in the next few days.
Gearbox quiet and no grates.
The Bad:
While rubbing paint nack ki noticed that in front of the two rear wheel arches, someone has gone crazy with the filler and filled both sides up. Now i
have not delved any deeper into the pink s##t that is there, it may be rusted out completly but then again it could only be minor and panel has been
hammered in.
The paint is dodgy, infact its ratty, was originally painted up in St Kilda colours, the red remains but the black is gone!
The interior panels inside in the cabin are poor, as with the seats, id chuck them out and modify seats from a corolla or honda prelude and fit into
it.
Engine has to be taken out to fit some tineware around the engine at the rear (towards the front of the car)
Has a pretty dodgy camping interior in her, but maybe you could make your own!
Ready for rego pending any worn balljoints!
A easy resto for the 70, basically rub down and spray and make your own interior to how you want it. A blank canvas
Price: As she sits with four new tyres, cd player, roofrack and bullbar, $2200
Minus engine and gearbox and 72 Deluxe, $900 Firm.
(the engine and gearbox are not available seperatly however.)
