Weekend bump, still looking for a top quality Caravelle. Would also consider a very good T3 dual cab, happy to pay market value for the right DC.

Dont know about trouble free 86 caravelle Greedy. I bought that caravelle a week ago. I just had a major service done by CBB in Penrith. The engine is shot. Losing oil pressure and lifters very noisey. Needs full rebuild. Paid $5000 for it and now going to cost $4000 minimum to rebuild. Yeah real good buy..........mmmmm

Mate that is really shitty.

CBB are very good and will set it right if you go down that avenue.

IMHO it might better off driving as little as possible now and buying a second hand, reconditioned engine when one comes up. Dave in Nowra had one not long ago for $1500.00 Send him a pm and see what comes up, you could also try kombirescue ,Steve might also be able to fix this issue.

I like this one

I guess they are reasonably rare in this condition these days.

How many T3 Double Cabs sold in Aus ? Dave B ?
It wasnt really a great period in Australia for VW in the late 80's early 90's, I dont think they sold many cars at all.

Have seriously considered this twincab. contacted the seller and even had a pre-purchase inspection done by an Adelaide vw specialist. When you add up the costs of transport, NSW rego, blue slip and comprehensive insurance as well as some minor repairs the ute IMHO is not worth it. Great looking ute though.
