The 1200 motor is a sweet little engine with more than enough power for what you can legally do.

Also seems very cheap on petrol.

aside from the engine, indicators, bumpers, steering wheel and grab handle looks pretty original

cant be to many more like this left out there

Late '59 Beetles, as well as early'60s, had the dished steering wheel - and short rear torsion bars, front anti-roll bar,etc. Have you checked wheels and glass for dates? It may even be a fully-imported one.
