Hi there all. Up for grabs is my 55 oval - it was my very first car and I've been sitting on it for years with the hopes to fix it up one day, but
the times come for it to move on and hopefully someone will love it as much as I have.

The car:
1955 Oval window beetle
Accident damaged. See photos, the car was parked on the roadside when some young idiot hit it from behind pushing it into a car in front. completely
wrote off the decklid 
, drivers rear guard and front passenger
guard, bonnet is buckled. The rear drivers side near the engine bay is creased slightly, but the front main body doesnt look damaged, maybe slightly
creased, hard to tell. No damage to the chassis. It also pushed the generator back, causing the oil filter in turn to snap its mount to the engine
block.
Its been sitting ever since (since 1996) in my parents shed, out of the weather. Consequently is pretty rust free. Pan is excellent (original 55 pan),
seems to be a little bubbling at the base of the passengers door and another spot in the dash just above the steering wheel, at the vent area.
Otherwise this is a very solid car.
In its day it was cal look, with trims removed.
Included in the sale is replacement guards and deck lid from an early 60s beetle.
It has original rear seat, but escort front seats, which are quite comfy. No tail lights, steering wheel, speedo or headlights. There is the body of
one of the headlights, but one was mangled in the accident and my Dad broke the other one -doh. Jubilee number plates not included in the sale.

unfortunately neither I, nor the kid, were insured back then, so no, it was never written off.
