[FS - NSW] 1964 Beetle Golde steel roof * SOLD *
simoninoz - September 2nd, 2009 at 10:18 PM

Hi, I'm moving overseas for a while so am selling my bug. Was bought by me from country NSW 3 years ago with original low milage for weekend driving but was my faithfull daily for a year and a half until now.

Only got these pics on my laptop so inspections are best. Has original engine and gearbox, interior door cards. Seats have been proffessionally trimed in grey vinyl at some stage. The car (Ruby Red) has had a blow-over in the past too. It's by no means blemish free, there is a slight dent at the front of the bonnet, odd small dings on the wings, some rust at the bottom of the engine lid, the roof works best with assistance (pulled back), there is evidence of rust at the bottom door pillars. Have a look yourselves if you are interested. Overall good car, drives great and having the roof open is brilliant.

Comes with Wolfsburg West window rubbers, door kits (chrome, scrapers, rubbers). Resto was on the cards but it's second in line to a Type 3 which is half way there and staying in Oz.

Rego till Christmas.
Car is on the Northern Beaches and I can arrange inspections - pm me.

$4000

What's the deal with the rag tops?

Do they leak? Rusty?

Were they a factory option?

Hi Dave,
But it has the smaller side windows of a pre 65/66? Was 6volt? I don't have the docs on me as I'm overseas but I've no doubt its a 64. The bonnet pull is on the passengers side - import car??
Cheers

yeah they made AUSSIE Steel roofs after May 66 and right on into the 70s
