Hey all,

Up for sale is Boris The Rat, a 67 Beetle Deluxe currently in 'rat cal' guise.
Boris has a really good, non original 50's interior (door card fit is a little loose and seat back is the og basket weave grey under the mex blanket)and Berg Shifter. Heater channels and under battery are all fine. Original rubber mats are there, as is the original books and warranty card.
Outside, he has some nice bits, Flying VW (currently painted but only lightly, will polish off), Original Talbot of Berlin bullet mirror. Also is running a 4" narrowed ol skool customs beam with no shocks. I have 4 x og rims with near new Federal Tyres as well as some wideys currently fitted with 205/75 Bridgestones with cut in whitewalls. Has minimal rust, bit on the bonnet and the left hand wheel well and base of the doors, however A and B pillars are excellent as is the pan as a whole. Rear guards have 'poppa' dents and could probably do with replacing. Sides have been painted with a high quality satin and look good. Running boards are only fair and I have some spares that will come with it. Deck lid is not original but is rust free and painted matt black, tail light lamp not connected.
Mechanically, brakes are excellent as are electrics (still 6v) with a new heavy duty cold crank battery. Motor runs very well although I have been told by my mechanic that the heads are carboned up and consequently is down on power, but drives well if not a smidge slow. Has usual oil leaks. Trans shifts nicely and the clutch is sweet.
Some bits to turn boris back to what he once was will be included. Bumpers, visor, original hubcaps. Will also chuck in a couple of eskies!

Ha ha, yeah, a bit of fun. They were on ebay from Brazil, only cost $10 or so, but that was a while ago.

It does have lotsa nice bits, beam, interior, GB Shifter etc etc. And an awesome dubber will be running it down to Volksfest, the best show in SA.
Forgot to mention that it picked up 'best rat' at aforementioned show in 2006 and 2007.

This is hands down the most amazing VW I have ever seen! Has some serious character.
Obviously Boris is running fine from the sounds of it, only potential problem is that I live in NSW.. would love it if you could run me through what work would need to be done to get it rego'd over here.
That is if it hasnt sold already...?
