Hi All, due to space, costs and far too many other projects on the go, its sadly time for the buggy project to move onto a new home.
This restoration project will be up for grabs to Aussieveedubbers for one week before going to the black hole of ebay. (id rather it go to an
enthusiast) as it has been sitting around for three owners waiting for the right person to restore it to its glory!!!
OK, where to start, the chassis number is *118475177* showed it to be a 1968 which ties in with the front discs.
The engine number shows as H1245239, which looks to be a 1500-44hp and relates to 1969 from what I have been advised. I haven't had this started so
would expect a rebuild.
NOTE: As far as any RTA or equivalent state authority can advise me this has never been registered as a buggy and probably has been
off the road for many, many years in either its beetle or Buggy form. Therefore there are no rego papers with this vehicle, although I do have hand
written receipts from the previous two owners as it changed hands over the years.
I would class the overall general state of the vehicle as POOR, but not unrepairable by any means, but you would need to expect full restoration
including engineering.
I started on the project by having new 1.6mm steel floors folded with 50mm "C" section edges, and we started to weld into shape, this is as far I
managed to get, if you wish to continue along this route I can include these floors for the price of the steel alone ($100), otherwise i will keep and
chop up for future projects
Also included are a pair of Hyundai seats that came with it when i bought it and a fiberglass fuel tank that looks original but probably not legal!
$900 ono, quick sale wanted, gone by the weekend if possible.
Any questions please call, available most evenings for viewing/collection
Many thanks
